5 stars!! I've been meaning to write a review for Bothwell. I took my Infiniti G35 here, the third place I've tried in the South Bay and they did excellent work and were honest and reasonably priced. Fixed a problem another repair shop struggled with and also did it for a fair price. Smart, nice, competent, honest. Rare these days and appreciate them for it!! Highly recommend!!!

Not good for informing you how much parts and work cost and if you can make the drive to Costco it's half the cost and they will call you and inform you what's being done to your car.I was overcharged twice and three times as much as any other mechanic.

Beware....I'm a female that got completely HOSED by these guys.A relative recommended here as I blew a strut on summer vacation and said he trusted these guys and they won't over charge.Made an appointment and I believe they fixed it in a day. I was charged $660 for a $100 strut that took a guy on you tube less then 30 min to replace and they cut Into my mud flap by a half inch.Friends of mine figured I paid twice as much as I should have and they are worried I didn't get the whole strut I was charged for as Chris the mechanic said he didn't need to use all the parts he ordered?Later I'm told they should have done both sides as your car is misaligned by just fixing one.I took it in mid November for the other strut and figured I would get an oil change and my winter tires put on since my car was in anyways. I called them at the end of the day to see if my car was ready and they said they had to order the parts for the other strut.I paid $261 for an oil change and tires where normally I pay $100 for a synthetic oil change and $40 for winter tires. And the main thing I wanted to get done didn't. Why didn't they call me to tell me the parts wouldn't be in until later?February 6th I had made an appointment the week before for the strut I came in for in November, I call them at 430pm to ask if my car is done, and they say they have to wait for the parts. I called another mechanic who said they would question why they can't get the parts as they are readily available. When I did question the main owner he said he had to "reassess" the repair? It was just in, in November and your changed the other strut in July how much do you need to assess?I don't appreciate how "flip" they are that customers are without their car for days and they don't call you to tell you when the car is done or they can't get the parts?Not very nice for taking advantage of me.

I had blown a radiator hose while driving on the freeway and my truck redlined. I took it to the dealership and they fixed the hose but on the drive home a knock sensor code came up. Again I went to the dealership and the replaced one sensor but not both which was a dumb move since they are difficult to access. Needless to say I would continue to have the knock sensor code come up again and again. Then I noticed I was losing coolant and after several visits to the dealership there conclusion was I needed a new engine. I took my truck to Bothwell Automotive for a second opinion and they found a leaking gasket which they replaced and pressure tested. So far so good and I will never go back to the dealership for service. Thanks Gill and Todd for explaining everything, your hard work and great customer service. I definitely found my new GoTo place for service on my truck.

Best kept secret ever!! I have driven past them countless times over the years, to the point where I didn't see them anymore, like the trees. Then one time driving by with a friend, in her car because mine wasn't drivable, she pointed to them and said what great work they do, and honest about the work needed and fair prices. This was my exact experience!! Saved me a lot of money, and did great work. Side note: just a week before my car was injured, the dealership tried to tell me I needed to do brakes "right away" because they were "dangerous" and almost not there.... Had these guys check it out... they are still at 60 to 70 percent, don't need to be replaced and NOT a dangerous emergency!! This is why no one trusts the dealerships. Dealers = Scammers! Bothwell is great! Enjoy good service and fair prices.

Called Bothwell after a different mechanic said I needed a complete new engine for my Jeep. I spoke with Gil who is very friendly and helpful. Gil assured me that it is only in need of a head gasket, only $7K less than the mechanic quoted me. Bothwell is my only service center I will now use. Thank you Gil for all your help.

I have been going to Bothwells for many years. I know I can go there, and they are honest, kind truthful. It's so great to go to a place that I have a knowledge they're not going to take it vantage of me, especially as a woman and not lie to me about the work that needs to be done. Always honest and truthful. Recently, my car broke down in Culver City And AAA recommended a place a half a mile away. I paid the extra money to be towed to torrance to go to Bothwells because my AAA only covered 7 miles. But I know that I can go there and feel safe and they'll do a great job without being dishonest. I am so blessed to know these people. It is a family owned business that has ethics and truly care about what they do and how they treat people. So thank you, Bothwells.

Highly recommended. I asked the owner to try to diagnose my ford explorer for exhaust fume inside the cabin. They did a thorough checkup and did not find any obvious issue. They said they could not see any issue and never smelled exhaust fumes after checking the engine bay, exhaust and specially the air cabin area. After getting it back I drove it hard to Sacramento and did not have any exhaust fume issue inside the cabin. The owner did not even charge me for checking the suv thoroughly. They may have cleared the air cabin mechanism or seal ducts when they put it back together after checkup. Highly recommended.

I found Bothwell on Nextdoor. I just reached 60k miles and wanted to do routine maintenance. I called the dealer and they quoted some outrageous prices for recommended work. I called Bothwell and Gil said that they would check out whether my car needed some of the work and not just do it. He said he had to check the prices of parts and would get back to me. He actually called me back shortly thereafter. The prices that he quoted were way less than that of the dealer. He also explained some of the work since I had no idea what it entailed. I felt comfortable bringing my car there even before any work was done.When I picked up my car, the cost was less than what I expected as Gil said that some of the work did not need to be done after they took a look at the car. They also do not charge a diagnostic fee which some repair shops charge even when you know what work needs to be done. That saved me another $85.I've already recommended Bothwell to my sister. She brought her car in and Todd told her that some of the work that her mechanic recommended did not need to be done and the prices she was charged were less than her mechanic quoted. She also was not charged a diagnostic fee which her mechanic charges.I will continue to bring my car to Bothwell Automotive and recommend their services to anyone looking for quality work at a fair price.
