“ABOVE AND BEYOND! It was Thanksgiving weekend 2014 and i had forgotten to renew my oral chemo for my Leukemia. My local pharmacy ( i live in the Midland/Penetang area ) did not have the meds in stock, as they are expensive and ordered as needed. I was in a panic, i had taken this medication since 2008 without missing a beat. I called Purehealth Pharmacy in Barrie, which is located right in Royal Victoria Hospital. My reasoning was they are located right beside the Cancer Care Center at RVH. I was told that they did not have these meds in stock either. I guess the distress in my voice was coming through, as he took my phone number and told me he would look into the availability for me. Low and behold my phone rang a few minutes later and i was told that the medication was on route from Toronto and would be delivered, right to my home. I asked what the cost would be and i was told, no charge.The next time i went for my routine check up at the Cancer Center i stopped into the Purehealth Pharmacy and met the man who made this all possible. His name is Magdy and he is the owner. I offered him a hundred dollar bill for his effort in making my Thanksgiving a less stressful one. After a bit of back and forth with the money, i told him, use it for someone in need, like i had been on Thanksgiving weekend. He said okay, i will.For the next ten years Magdy and Purehealth team have been a big part of my life. Delivering my medication needs right to my doorstep.This fall i was told that my $100 deductable was due for Ohip from the pharmacy staff. I asked if i could make monthly payments as i did not have $100 at the time. I was told to hold on for a moment, Magdy then got on the phone and said remember that $100 you gave to me ten years ago, well i will use it now to pay your deductible for this year. Talk about getting all choked up, i haven't cried in a long time, but his kindness overwhelmed me. For the last ten years, Magdy his son Joseph and all the staff and drivers have gone ABOVE AND BEYOND in taking care of me. Funny how you never know when you are going to run into a lost brother, because that is what Magdy has become to me. We greet each other with hugs as if we had not seen each other for long time. Also a special thanks to Peter who has also become a great friend, delivering my medication and we also share the love of racing and fast cars. I wish them all happiness, health and prosperity! “It's your typical Walmart, however the lay out of the parking lot is horrible. There are a lot of near miss accidents so please be carful walking through the maze with any small children. The building is pretty newly renovated and the bathrooms tend to be better stocked and cleaner than the north side Barrie Walmart. I live closer to the north end but drive to this Walmart because they don't charge you for bags or make you pay a deposit for a shopping cart like the north end store does. This Walmart tends to stock efficiently even when their are big sales people are price matching from other stores Customer Service is good except for the lack of representation in sporting goods. However I believe that problem is not limited to this store. For one stop shopping this local Walmart takes the cake. Downfall however is it is not 24 hours”
