We recently had to have some exhaust work done, and while Jay said he could fix it, he recommended us to a garage that specifically does exhaust work which saved us about $500.
On another occasion, I was sitting in their reception area waiting for our vehicle when another customer came in to pick up his vehicle. The customer looked over his bill and asked Jay why he wasn't charged for an oil change. Jay told him that upon inspection it was determined that an oil change wasn't necessary, saving the customer the cost of this.

“My brake line snapped on my Tacoma and I immediately called my mechanic, there was a 2 week wait for my truck to go in so I decided to try this place out after a good friend of mine gave a good referral.
when I called I was immediately greeted by a friendly lady, after explaining my problem she was able to get me in that next day.
After the work was done I picked my truck up and while I was driving I felt like my brake pedal was a little softer than I would prefer. I called back and they managed to get my truck in to fix it the next day.

“I had my injection pump and injectors in to 2 different shops, but the engine continued to run badly Someone recommended Derek's to me so I tried that. Perfect! Now the engine runs smoothly and no smoke at all! Apparently there were many errors in the adjustments. Too bad I paid 3 times for the same job, but only Derek's was worth paying for.”
