Went into freshmart today to buy a few things, I was actually shocked to see prices on some things, most things are more then double the price then sobeys or independents in gravenhurst. My wife usually goes in I don't, we use it mostly as an emergency store, for a community store they should start thinking about their prices when in the winter time they need the community to support them and keep them open. I know one person in the community that will never shop in that store again.and for the prices they charge they should have enough money to pay more employees on the weekends, today some poor older woman stalking shelves and when you went to the cash, you had to ring the bell so the lady stocking shelves good run to the cash to check you out. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. I will forward this to head office as well your store is dirty and smells

Extremely over priced!
Small selection of food. It's good for kissing items, which prevents you from driving all the way to gravenhurts, however the prices are a few dollars more than regular store.
Seven years after writing this review, it just seemed to have gotten worse. The looks like one of those crammed dollar stores with everything they try to put for sale. The place is filthy, smells horrible, especially in the milk section, and it doesn't smell like dried milk, something worse. Service is a joke, with beyond ridiculous pricing.
Let's not forget the "Bala tax" added to make it more expensive.
If you can wait a day to get your food somewhere then get the minimum and just go somewhere else and save money and experience.

Tourist prices but the staff make things worth it. If you're going in the near future please be patient. I was there today with my 2 kids and the line up was around by the freezers. There was only one cashier because none of the summer staff have started yet. The poor dear was almost in tears. I could feel the stress coming off of her. My daughter gave her a little gift and a big hug. Please treat others the way you'd like to be treated. She's doing her best. We're ALL doing our best!

Really really over priced. I know we are a small town and we are expected to pay more but this has gotten ridiculous. And the quality of produce is the worst I have ever seen. I love supporting local but go to Gravenhurst. And the guy running it doesn't even live here.

For a small store, the selection of products is actually good. Their meat department sometimes needs a little attention, but their produce, dairy, and baked goods are always fresh. They are always friendly and the service is great. The store has definitely improved since change of ownership. There's plenty of free parking, too.
