If google had the option to leave 0 stars I would. The store owner Kevin was extremely combative and rude to myself and my boyfriend today. He would not honour the Pet Valu brand coupons (for new pet parents) I was provided during another shopping trip for new puppies we are getting in January. He very unwillingly took one coupon but then told us he wouldn’t honour the other one because he could do whatever he wanted since he was the store owner. Both coupons did not say that they weren’t available for use at franchise stores and they were not expired. Although as I suspected after talking to customer service they did inform me that he was required to use the coupons and he also had to follow certain stores policies regardless if it is franchise or corporate. He was extremely aggressive with me as soon as I approached the counter and insinuated that we didn’t even have a puppy. My boyfriend then tried to use the remaining coupon in a separate order and set up an account through the store and he would not allow either. On the way out he told us to “go back to our own country” and embarrassed us in front of all the other customers. Then informed us that he was American - although I have no idea why any of this was even relevant. The whole situation was extremely disrespectful, aggressive, embarrassing and unprofessional. As a past employee of Pet Valu I could have never imagined ever speaking to a customer or a person like this while representing a brand. Absolutely disgusting and unnecessary.

The store and staff are very pleasant, but the quality of certain products have been declining the cat litter for example no longer clumps and leaves a mess in the box it used to be a good product but is poor now

So, my wife bought a large bag of dog food and had it placed beside the car as it was locked. I was in another store, did not see it or receive the text, drove away and an hour later got the text from her telling me to pick the bag up. Well, needless to say when I returned there was the bag. Thanks Pet Value staff for looking after us.

Most of the staff is personable and helpful. They are knowledgeable about the variety of products available for our menagerie of pets. The price of Blue Buffalo dog food is higher than other stores, however I appreciate that an employee will help carry multiple bags of dog food to my car.

Okay, Googlemaps, neither The Source or Pet Valu or in the same building as Wal-Mart.Love this store for a special treat for my canine best friend. They have a nice array of cookie-like biscuits and fun wet food for that special holiday. Huge selection for anything you might need for your pet and there's a wash station that we haven't used personally but I've seen used and it always seems to work well for those folks. Great service though, it must be said, the cat is usually pretty cranky. I would be too if drooling idiots (and their dogs) were always invading my space. Great store.

Have been buying my dog food and other pet supplies here since 1996. They are always knowledgeable and attentive. I love that you have no problems returning a product that wasn't what your pet expected.

I am writing this review in regard to an unfortunate and unexpected experience I had with the Amherstburg store.I had phoned the store to check stock of Big Country Raw which I wanted to buy for my small dog who has kidney disease and i would ultimately switch all my pets to it.My dog has been having an issue with eating which is a symptom of the disease. This was basically my last resort to try to get her past her anorexia.When I phoned the store I spoke to the owner, asked about stock and asked about Big Country's return policy.At this time I was given a lengthy and unnecessary speel about how they prefer not having/taking these returns because 'they take up too much room in their freezer'. And that they are a small store with limited space.I listened to this wondering why their lack of freezer space was even my concern. When Big Country Raw clearly takes returns.After all this he proceeded to tell me about my 'picky eater' dog and the problem with her. I clearly corrected him and told him that she was not 'picky' but in fact quite 'sick'. This was not news to him since I had spoke to him on several occasions about her.I am writing to tell you what transpired and to let you know that I will not be buying any pet needs at this store.I was shocked that they tried to talk me out of purchasing from their store on the basis of lack of freezer space.Also the insensitivity he showed regarding my sick pet was so upsetting that I will not return to this store for fear of what I will say to him.For your information. I will also be contacting Big Country Raw and letting them know how their feeder store is discouraging purchases on the basis of lack of freezer space.
