My wife and I went on a tour of the old buildings in Tulsa, guided by Tulsa Foundation for Architecture. The tour was very educational. Reminded me of the old song Ain’t there no more. We noticed the Mayo Hotel . It looks great from the outside. After the tour we went in to eat lunch my wife thinking they had a nice restaurant. Something like an old Hotel the Davenport in Spokane, Washington. It did not . We walked around a little bit and then left . The architecture of the hotel is very nice. I don’t know about the rooms.

I haven't personally stayed at The Mayo yet, however... Look at the faces in the window, made from dust and cobwebs. I noticed them in the window of The Mayo parking garage a couple of years ago, and they are still there today. Hope you see what I'm talking about and find it to be interesting. ?

Had my wedding here, it was a nightmare working with the sales director, not very organized or professional, didn’t remember what I needed for my wedding. I picked this venue because it’s beautiful, which no doubt it was, however it was terrible experience and stressful throughout the entire process. Would not recommend anyone to have your wedding here, for the price you pay, you don’t receive that type of service. Spoke with the director he was unimaginably rude and disrespectful and was not even willing to hear me out.

The rooftop is great to see an awesome sunset … if you can access it. They have it closed off a lot for “events”. I still think you should be able to access a portion of the outside to the public. A very hateful “Karen” during such an event on Friday, October 11th 2024 prevented us from celebrating 20 years the day we met on that rooftop. She just snapped her fingers and said “well darn”. WOW! Very disappointing.

This hotel is right downtown. We were upgraded to a suite. It's gorgeous and huge. No TV in here. We have an apartment, we could live here.

Only off part was that the fridge had an ice and water dispenser, yet it did not dispense ice or water

After driving 12 hours we were looking forward to our stop at The Mayo. It was easy to get to off the highway and valet was ready to assist as we pulled up. It’s an old hotel with beautiful bones but lacking in decor of the period, feeling drab and almost Russian 70’s era instead. Unfortunately we were on the second floor with a view of a construction site parking lot where a yelling match between two people took place in the middle of the night, waking us up. We were most looking forward to a visit to the rooftop bar and a drink but when we asked about it at check-in we’re told it’s only open Wednesday - Saturday. We ended up walking to a restaurant a few blocks away. If you like a dark room to sleep in the bring your eye mask, an exterior light shines right into this room. The bed was comfortable but firm and the AC worked great although it was as loud as a window unit. We ate breakfast at the cafe in the lobby since the restaurant was also closed and it was disgusting. The egg, cheee, bacon sandwich had a funny taste and the banana bread was hard and stale as a brick. I should have known that because all the pastries were just sitting out in a glass enclosed case getting stale. Even Starbucks doesn’t do this. Overall not a great stay and would not recommend.

If you like historic hotels the Mayo is the place for you. Marbled floors and grand staircases are plentiful. Service and hospitality were impeccable. And Leah even emailed me two receipts that needed for expenses. I’ll be back!
