Just bought this cute little tote! I love how it’s handwoven. Esther runs the boutique and is the sweetest! She was very helpful with helping me decide what bag I wanted. There’s also tons of other unique things like jewelry, belts, art, and more. Definitely recommend shopping here for yourself or if you’re needing a gift for someone else too!!

I have spoken to Ms. Esther and had a great conversation with her. I do think their products are wonderful and they certainly are beautiful. Having talked to her I am updating my review of the company. She was kind and considerate and we will more than likely come by to visit her little shop in the coming days.

This is one of my favorite women/Latina owned businesses! I'm from the north of Mexico but in my heart, I'm from the south, where Oaxaca (wah-haak-kah) is located and indigenous culture and traditions are being preserved. Esther, the owner, is from there and her passion for helping her community resulted in her starting this business. Oaxaca is renowned for its artisans and beautiful handcrafted art and products. Esther has made it her mission to share them with us and to help the artisans that make them. When you purchase anything form them, you are helping transform lives by putting money directly into the hands of the original craftsperson.At first, Hilo de Amor became popular for their big, colorful tote bags, but now they have much more than just handbags. On their website, you can see their full inventory including apparel, jewelry, hair accessories, home decor, accessories and even select food items like mole and chocolate! If you like authenticity, quality handmade items can and supporting a good cause, this is the business for you! I have three bags and they look brand new despite them being purchased years ago.

They currently have a booth at Mother Road Market. I had read about this company in the paper months ago and wanted to go to the Market just to seek them out. LOVE!The owner was there when I was shopping and made sure that I was given personal treatment. She was digging out headbands to make sure I had a great selection. She was personable and helpful (as was the cashier).Hilo de Amor's business model is to help the people of Oaxaca. She carries SUCH beautiful artisan items like bags to the aforementioned head bands to belts, pottery, hats and jewelry. Hilo de Amor means "Thread of Love."I bought a great headband (to wear to a Frida event at Philbrook). Please check out this great store OR the website. If the kiosk disappears from Mother Road (as they sometimes do), I will use their website to order. Really cool stuff!!!!!!

I absolutely love the product sold by Hilo De Amor but I also love Mrs. Esther she has a heart of gold.. Her product is elegant and sturdy at the same time.. She will have a purse custom made in the colors you want and that can’t get any better than that.. ❤️

I love Hilo Da Amor products. ? The recyclable plastic totes are my favorite! I own 3 totes so far. They are excellent quality and can be filled up with heavy children’s books and still not break. I use them daily for produce, books, pool bag, kid stuff, really anything I carry in transit. I highly recommend buying a tote for yourself and/or as a gift for someone else. ?
