The experience was great at the beginning. Car was ready, staff was friendly, but when the car was returned, we discovered we had been deceived, lied to, or intentionally misled. Our rental was paid for by the insurance company because our car was being repaired. The girl who helped us was very accommodating but, as it turned out, was very misleading. She, emphatically, stated not to bring the car back on a full tank. When questioned about why, she said we didn't need to because of the type of rental. We probably didn't use $10.00 in gas, but when we returned it, they charged $35.00. She denied telling us not to fill it back up. That seems to be a way they make extra money by willfully deceiving well-intentioned customers. There's a QT across the street. We could have easily topped off the tank, but we chose to believe in the honesty and integrity of the employee and company.

As with most rental places, it's a pretty bad scam on upcharges. We rented a higher mileage car, it was dirty when we got it but we took plenty of pictures. The car then broke with electrical issues and we had to swap it out, they were trying to charge us for pet hair cleaning, we have not had any pets in the car and returned it in a better condition than we received it, except the electrical issues which is a maintenance problem for them since this car was past it's warranty. Of course the new car we were swapping for was also covered in pet hair and dirty, so we will take plenty of photos and expect the same fiasco when we return this old beater.
In summary take plenty of pictures and document everything. If you think you took plenty of pictures, take 50 more, they may save you a ton of money overall.

Ivy at Hertz on Peoria was extremely helpful and communicative. I had a rental car for a month due to an insurance claim and Ivy called me to set up pickup and drop off. She was so friendly and willing to answer all my questions. Thank you Ivy! The rental car was a Ford Edge, it was very clean and I had zero problems with it.

Horrible. Insurance company booked me a rental. The Nissan ivey rented me was filthy, I said it was ok and before I returned it it was detailed. We paid a $50 deposit and never got it back to waking up yesterday to an additional $61.95 and so now been charged $112 and absolutely no response or answer from hertz. Crooks. I'll dispute it with my bank. Thanks for being crooked hertz

Front desk was not helpful at all, they continued to put me on hold and hang up. Very sorry customer service from this place as well as the location on memorial.

Have a reservation for today at 11am and it's now almost 3pm and still waiting for my rental.Hertz used to be the best rental car company, now it's not what it used to be.

I went to hertz to try and let me pay 5 a day to get my insurance to what they pay basically the manager wouldn't get me a new receipt so my insurance would pay me 800 plus dollars. He. Said he can't do it. I was A .manager for many years I had the authority to fix problems. Hertz would have lost nothing but because of their poor workers I don't get my insurance to pay for my car rental we are talking 100 dollars I was going to pay so they wouldn't lose money. This is the second time hertz screwed the other time. I rented a car I took it back 2 days early they told me management had to approve giving me a refund I kept calling but they never paid me I finally gave up. Hertz is a disgrace to the Rental car business. I'm out over 800 dollars I'm on ss my car was totaled by a driver who broadsided me so every penny I have goes to survive. Too many companies today rip us off daily. Welcome to corporate America where big companies constantly take their customers for a ride.

Very bad service. Employee did not appear at the agreed appointment (on Saturday at noon). Sunday was closed, then on Monday the car should cost a third more, although it was she who did not appear at the appointment. She was more interested in her food than the customer. We then got a great deal on Budget. Never again. Zero stars
