The Botanic Garden at Oklahoma State University (OSU) in Stillwater spans over 100 acres and is a key component of OSU's Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. It provides a diverse range of horticultural displays, including:
1. Display Gardens: Featuring themed areas such as butterfly gardens, herb gardens, and ornamental grasses.
2. Research and Educational Programs: Offering opportunities for students and researchers to engage in plant science and environmental studies.
3. Demonstration Gardens: Showcasing sustainable gardening practices and new plant varieties.
4. Walking Trails: Providing scenic paths for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty and learn about different plant species.
5. Community Outreach: Hosting workshops, plant sales, and educational tours to promote gardening knowledge and environmental awareness.
The garden also collaborates with local organizations to enhance community involvement and supports conservation efforts to preserve native plant species and ecosystems.
When we visited in June, it was not looking attractive as there were few flowers and the plants looked dried up. So we took only half an hour to finish. Timing is from 6 AM to 8 PM.

Fantastic place for kids to play and explore! We came here thinking that it was just the treehouse Village and slide and would be a quick trip. Ended up spending hours exploring through the Playhouse and reading books from the small free library and checking out Plant life. I think it's a must see for getting kids out on a long car ride

Wildly underutilized for years, I've been delighted to see more use since covid. The parking situation is much better, as are the walk ways. They finally have baby changing stations in the bathrooms, which are in a building next to the northern gravel parking lot (near the house). They have a portapotty next to the new cement parking lot that is accessed from 6th street. There are 4-5 parking slots next to the treehouse-like playground and mud kitchen. There are wheelchair accessible areas in the main garden (cement, brick, packed sand), lots of stroller accessible areas (pea gravel, wood chips, packed dirt), and a few rough trails in the northeast side that are not wheel-friendly. Oklahoma Gardening Network films their shows here, so the garden is always changing, and there are research plots as part of the same space. There really is something for all ages. We love it!

Really great place to take kids that I think a lot of people don't know about. We seem to discover more and more every time we visit. Right by the playground there is an outside kitchen which is one of my daughter's favorites. We also discovered some wooden stumps that were made into obstacles. Throughout the rest of the gardens, there is a play house and a lot of other little things for kids to find and do. The best part is it's free to enter :)

Great shaded play area for kids. From out of town and needed to find something kid friendly for a few hours. So glad we visited, what a great place to burn some energy and be imaginative.

Who doesn't like a FREE Botanic Garden? This is a cute place, right off the campus of OSU. A great way to get outside and enjoy some nature by yourself, with kids or the entire family.

What terrific gardens! Even in early spring there’s plenty to see. I appreciated all the signage on the trail and the information about ecology. They are some very nice specimens in this garden, a few of my favorite.

OSU botanical garden is a beautifully maintained space where kids and adults can both enjoy equally. During the spring, summer and partially fall the garden is very nicely maintained. One can see seasonal, regional and some unique collections of flowers throughout the year except for winter. There are so many workshops and events that are being organized by OSU from time to time for the locals. The concerts that are organized needs special mention. The OSU botanical garden is also a space utilized by the researcher from OSU for various projects. Overall it is a great place.

Great botanical garden! Lots of play areas and places to have picnics! A little difficult with a wheelchair but there is a good portion doable with one. A good place for all ages when the weather is good.
