We saw the exotic vet for our beardies she was amazing. We unfortunately had to let one go and she was very supportive and caring with my daughter. She explained everything clearly and even gave us info to help us be the best bearded dragon parents. I will definitely use her again for all of our lizard needs.

Downgraded my rating to 1 star. Will never shop here again.
We brought our 7 month old large breed puppy to be groomed on Sunday, May 12. He is gentle, sweet, calm, knows all basic commands. We thought it would be OK, since we could see through the window. He was in the back for quite a long time b/c they insisted on bathing him, even though he didn't need it. We stayed in the store/just outside at all times & checked visually multiple times. We observed when he was visible to us. The groomer tried to encourage us to leave, telling us it would take hours & we probably didn't want to wait.
We did see that he seemed scared. He is not at all aggressive & did not act aggressively in any way. We saw the groomer grab his back right leg & pull it to the side, we saw him almost slip off the table, & we saw the groomer being very rough when combing out his facial hair, as his head was jerking with each pull of the comb. Afterwards, she told us he didn't like having his beard pulled on.
The way we were spoken to, it seemed like the groomers were very frustrated & angry. They were rude & brisque. Our dog is the easiest dog I've ever dealt with. We worked so hard with taking him places with us & having him meet many people & being in different situations with different types & ages of people. After this visit to Petco, he is terrified at the vet & hides behind the chairs and cries, he backs away & barks if someone wants to pet him. He previously loved attention from anyone & was not at all afraid. You can also see how scared he was in his after picture (3rd).
We noticed him crying when getting up & limping on his back right leg starting the evening he was groomed. I checked his paws, & his nails were trimmed way too short, so that the quick was visible, & they were what I can only describe as frayed, or splitting up the sides. I thought this might be the issue & wanted to make sure they didn't get infected.
I took him to the vet on Tuesday, May 14. They could tell he was in pain & could feel swelling at his hip. They took xrays of his leg to determine that it was not broken & decided it must be soft tissue damage. They advised us of a better groomer. We learned from many, many people in the community that they had had negative experiences with their pets being injured while groomed at Petco.
At this point my husband contacted corporate, who has not responded to his email. I contacted a store manager, who was very calm and seemed to be understanding. I asked for video recordings of the grooming, & he said he had to speak to his GM & they would talk to the groomers, as it was not acceptable. We have not seen recordings or had any call back from the GM. He offered a refund for the grooming, which was definitely subpar, with long pieces, choppy, & matted areas inside paw pads. My husband didn't even want to return to the store, but as we had spent $279 on the vet bill, I did accept the refund.
Three weeks later he was still crying & limping, even on pain medication. The vet wanted to see him again, & though his hip seemed better, his knee was still bothering him. They told me that an ACL injury is the most common thing that would not have healed & that they can't see ACL injuries on radiograph. They manipulated the area and determined that he does have an ACL tear. They think it is only partial, so he has to be on complete rest with no activity for 2 weeks while taking 2 types of painkillers 2x each day. He cannot even go on walks or play with our kids. If the tear doesn't heal on its own in this time, he has to have surgery to repair it.
I am beyond sad, angry, frustrated, furious, & regretful. He is a puppy, a perfect match for our family as he is happy-go-lucky, guards the boys, plays with them, & goes everywhere with us. Now he is fearful of other people, and cannot even play or enjoy his daily walks. If his ACL te
