If there was on option for 0 stars that’s what I would put. We brought our puppy here for stitches. We payed to have her knocked out. They didn’t knock her out we could hear her screaming the whole time she was back there. She was traumatized and snapping when they brought her out to us which she has never done before. The stitch’s didn’t last 12 hours. So we had to take her to another vet. Then when we tried to get into contact with them through phone calls it’s either the right person isn’t there or they just don’t answer. I even tried emailing them and they just ignore it. Overall the worst vet I have ever taken my dog to and I will never go back.

This group is caring and treats our fur babies like family. They are easy to stay in contact with and have been awesome to us. It has been a big comfort for us to know that we can trust our babies with them. We are fortunate to have found this group that exhibits the highest quality of care.

The staff are always fantastic. My cat wasn't eating and his behavior was off. They had appointments available and were great about reviewing everything they were doing to assess him. They also went over pricing options for everything before they ran tests or gave him meds. They even texted a few days later to make sure he was ok.He was OK! After x-rays and tests it seemed like he was just having an upset stomach and the anti-nausea shot/meds they gave him did the trick. He was just being an orange cat... but we he's getting old and wanted to make sure nothing funky was happening.

I took my pets here for years before I moved and they were always willing to help me and work with me when I couldn’t do everything. They do what they can within your budget and care so much for your pets and treat them as if they were their own.

I'm going to preface this. This is the best clinic I have ever gone to. They are honest, transparent, and the most caring people. My 6 year old golden retriever dog Harley fell very, very ill on a Monday. He has always had a high pain tolerance and my whole entire family agreed with me when I say we never thought he was sick. I went to a vet in Stillwater, that I won't name, and they said it could be kidney disease, liver disease, or heart disease. They only had him for only 2 hours. They gave me his blood panel and chemical panel, and prescribed Harley with $250 worth of medications. One of them being Ursidiol (I may have butchered the spelling). They also told me to come back in 15 days...keep that in mind...Long story short, I graduated with a BS in a major that's in the medical field. I know how to read a blood panel. When I got home and stopped crying, I realized there was no indication to give Ursidiol which is a medication that helps rid the body of a gallstone without the need of surgery. My poor buddy had to get 2 in the morning and 2 at night along with denamarin which is dog milk thistle for the liver. THAT one made sense. He became more sickly, threw up, and I knew I was making his life a living hell with those pills. I decided to take him to a new vet that Thursday because the indications the previous vet had were not lining up. Harley was also just getting worse. His ascites was getting bigger and he was having trouble getting up. I took him in, told Dr. Kyle everything that was going on, and when I tell you they looked him up head to toe, they did. They looked at his ascites fluid under a microscope, they did radiographs, they did ultrasounds, they did blood panels, everything. They had him for 5 hours and when the doctor called he said he saw two tumors- one in his heart and one in his gut. I couldn't have been happier that they found out what was causing my dog so much pain. It was metastatic cancer. Metastatic means that it has spread throughout the body. If it were localized, Harley may have had a chance but it wasn't. The whole team there were so supportive and kind to me. The doctor cried on the phone with me because he was so empathetic to my situation and my hurt that I will need to put Harley down in order to relieve his pain. When they asked when I'd like to euthanize him, I asked if I could take him to okc to let him go with my family by my side. They were so supportive of my decision and wrote a letter for me to put him down at another vet. I wish I had let him go at Perkins Road Animal hospital because they treated me like a person and they treated my dog just like I would. The vet I went to in OKC interrupted us when they sedated Harley (dogs only have 5-10 minutes after sedation before they are fast asleep) before the euthanization and demanded I pay for the euthanization and cremation. I lost 10 minutes with my best friend because the vet in okc DID NOT treat me like a person. Just monetary value to their business. I was so, so hurt by the lack of support. Then when it was all over, they just left him there on the ground and said we could leave. I understand that's how it happens but that's where I say they just see an animal at the OKC vet. Not man's best friend. I lost my best friend. He couldn't have been in better care on his last day at Perkins Road Vet Clinic. For all future pets I may have while I am in Stillwater, you better believe I am going to them because they care about your pet just as much as you do.

Main points: - cost effective (I'm a grad student so trust me on this one) - empathetic and compassionate - trustworthy - easy to fit into their schedule I adopted my first dog five days ago and the day after adopting her, she started having some issues urinating. They did everything they possibly could and treated both her and I with the most compassion and empathy. Every interaction I had with all the doctors, technicians, and receptionists over a period of four days was excellent. Turns out, it was an issue with nerves in her bladder, possibly from issues with her spay which was done at a different vet. We ended up having to euthanize her, but the doctor explained everything to me in depth and gave me options on what we could do to be most cost effective, as I'm on a pretty tight budget as a grad student. The vet and a technician stayed with me in the room and talked me and her through the whole process. I just moved to Stillwater so no family could be here with me during this difficult experience, but during that moment I felt like they were family. They treated my dog like she was their own too. They made an extremely hard moment feel a little bit calmer for both of us and for that I am so grateful and I know Pepper is too.

They can’t tell the difference between a tumor and a Salvatori gland. I took my dog peanut in over two weeks ago because she had swelling in her mouth and neck. They said they biopsied it they charged me for a biopsy. He said it’s definitely not cancer. He said he thought it was a Salvatori gland that had been damaged. They sent us home with steroids and something else Peanut started to get sick about day six, day eight I called asking if I could stop the medication and told them the swelling wasn’t going down day nine,Thursday we went in. They looked at her again. They told me she needed surgery to have her Salvatori gland removed, but that it was not life-threatening, and it was not an emergency , so we scheduled it for Thursday of this week peanut will never make it to that surgery not only because she never needed it but because we were miss treating a tumor by the time I took her for a second opinion, Tuesday , she couldn’t even walk her new vet showed me the inside of her mouth. There was a giant mass on the roof of her mouth this vet clinic needs to do better. How do you not see a giant tumor growing on the inside of her mouth if you examined her twice? How do you not see it when you allegedly did a biopsy of the swelling in her mouth? And when I called EVERY day worried telling you that she’s getting worse and receptionist tells me the vet isn’t worried about the bleeding in her mouth. The vet does not take his job serious and he should because those were her last days and I would have spent them differently if she had a proper diagnosis and I knew those would be her last. She shouldn’t have had to suffer with a proper diagnosis I would have realized it was her time and not been trying to force her to take meds or to eat, but I was under the impression she had a sore mouth not an untreatable tumor. And then to add salt to injury they double charged me for the medication they prescribed her, the one that she didn’t need to begin with.

If I could I’d give this place 0 stars!!! They have absolutely no idea how to treat animals. They will die under their care.

My dog declined in health quickly, the staff here were so helpful and concerned about Ray. They made that hard choice be easier and so gentle. I highly recommend this place if you ever need a vet. They truly are genuine and compassionate for your situation. Thank you for your services and taking great care of my Ray.

I cannot say enough good things about PRPC! The staff is amazing, thorough, compassionate, and care about your pet like they would their own. I have used them well over 20 years and except for times we needed OSU Vet Med, we have been consistent clients. I currently have 3 dogs, one which is older and under constant care. Any time I need to see them they make a point to get us in that day. IMO, you get what you pay for, and not all vets are equal. Are they cheapest, no, but they aren't the most expensive either. Veterinarians are doctors, with years of education, and modern equipment. to provide quality services for pets, and that is not cheap to buy either. I also see complaints from people about how much vet care costs from many folks, but as a pet-parent, people SHOULD be prepared to pay for vet care and not ask for discounts. I understand wanting to pay for basics and what you can afford, but if more specialized care is needed(and at some point it will happen) and it is a financial burden, then get pet insurance or just don't get a pet, OR save money up-front for that potential illness/injury. Having pets is expensive, and I have 3 dogs and spend a ridiculous amount for their care, but I knew the cost and accepted the fact it wouldn't be cheap. There may be a reason why certain testing needs to be done to get a proper diagnosis. Not once have they ever done any testing or procedures w/o contacting me first, and they are great at explaining in detail why that testing is needed and what they are looking for to make a proper diagnosis and course of treatment. Rather like a human doctor does. Again, you cannot ask for a better set of veterinarians or techs to care for your pets.

Perkins Road Pet Clinic has taken care of my cat Mochi since he was a kitten, they were the most affordable option for his first round of shots/vaccines, and have always taken great care of him. I needed an emergency visit once and they were very accommodating. After an appointment, they always check-in the next day to make sure that everything is going well. I’m sad to be leaving Stillwater, but I figured I’d write a review for any incoming college students that aren’t 100% sure where to take their fur baby! This clinic is amazing and always gets the job done.

Every time I go to this clinic, they try to upsell me hundreds of dollars of additional services. In the past, I was allowed to stay focused on the actual thing that's wrong with my pet. But now it's not even an option. Want a simple Depo shot for seasonal allergies? You will have to agree to pay hundreds for extra services you absolutely don't need, or they won't help your pet! Latest example: I had previously taken my cat in for a simple Depo shot, as she gets seasonally itchy. I was told I could stop by and get the shot without paying for a full diagnostic again. (This has been an ongoing issue for several years. The Depo shot gets her through the rough patch and she's back to normal by fall). It had been over a year since the seasonal itching was a problem, so I called the receptionist first to make sure I wouldn't have to pay for additional services, since I know that happens a lot at this clinic. Receptionist checked with the doctor and assured me I could just do the Depo shot. No extra services. So on my day off, I drove over and sit outside, because they haven't allowed people to go inside the building since 2020. It's now July 2023. The tech or whomever comes outside and tells me I'll need to pay for a full diagnostic and also a rabies vax. I'm immediately annoyed because this clinic is forever pulling shenanigans like this. I tell the woman my cat has already had rabies vax and I was told we could do a simple Depo shot today, since it's a known, ongoing issue. She says she doesn't know who told me that, but I'll need the extra services. I explain that the receptionist told me that after talking with the doctor. She doesn't go to check with the receptionist. And I can't get corroboration from the receptionist or doctor because I'm now allowed inside the building! The woman insists that I'll need all of the extra services or they can't help my cat. This clinic will refuse to help your pet, unless you agree to pay hundreds of dollars for EXTRA things your pet doesn't need. I'm calling another vet today, but I'm positive that the greedy business practices of this clinic will cause pets out there to suffer as most people simply can't afford to pay hundreds of dollars for services they don't need.

So caring! They took in our little Thomas and was very caring about what options I could take for his comfort.
