Thought I was going to be staying at a Holiday Inn Express. Probably will not be staying there again.

What's up with hotels in Stillwater? Why are even the good chains, like Holiday Inn Express, subpar in this town? The guy who checked us in was very nice, and on our way to the room I expected it to be a good stay. But honestly, the room was used and abused and not in good repair. Toilet paper holder drooping; the roll was barely hanging on. Fiberglass shower pulling away from the nearby drywall. Very dirty shelf in the closet. Ironing board with dark residue all over the cover. Flap on the A/C broken off. Etc.

I hesitate to be too harsh because I know mistakes happen and everyone has a bad day, but this was an experience I'd want to know about if it happened to someone else.An employee may have walked out on the job right before we arrived to check in. The front desk was unoccupied, the phone was ringing continuously, and we waited around 20 minutes for any service. When someone finally arrived, he was clearly puzzled and frazzled by the situation. He gave us a discount on our rooms in exchange for us making our own beds. The showers in both our rooms weren't fully functioning due to the faucet not plugging/redirecting the water fully. The entire hotel only had two housekeepers, so they clearly seem to be having issues with staffing. The rooms were very nice and the aesthetic was lovely. I think they're just in need of maintenance and extra staff.

I think the service was good and i love the rooms. I love all the channels the TV provides and I’ve been at this hotel 3 times now. However, after the 1st time they changed how you ate breakfast. Instead of going and serving your self what ever you want. It’s pretty much a little restaurant where you have to sit and order. Not a big fan of this and if it wasn’t for the nice rooms I would’ve went somewhere else. The breakfast is a big part of my stay. No other holiday Inn does this that I’ve been too

Room was clean and spacious with comfortable bedding. The a/c would not go below 80 degrees and it got quite warm. No free breakfast, which is ok. The kitchen was understaffed and the cook threw a temper tantrum when anyone wanted to make a substitution on their meal. The hotel was wonderful, just lacks some professional training for customer service and staff appearance.

Very comfortable beds! So comfortable that we overslept. Helpful and friendly staff and newly renovated rooms and common areas. A small part of the dining area is being renovated. I could’ve done without the “Jewish” star of moloch motif on the wallpaper. Also too many Mexicans there.

The management team is the most disrespectful staff at a hotel establishment I have ever seen. We are travels and stay at many IHG establishments. My wife, her friend, and our two daughters were book to stay at this hotel October 2023. The day of arrival , my wife’s friend suddenly received a phone call that her brother-in-law had suddenly died. Our daughters were booked for a tour of OSU the next day so that is why we chose this hotel. They were already in Edmond on another college tour at the time of the horrific news. Of course, it was past the deadline to cancel. I tried calling the hotel and never was the phone answered (about 5 attempts). When I did finally get ahold of someone the immediately transferred me to the main IHG customer support line. I opened a case with guest relations and about 8 days later the hotel management stated that the no show charge would remain. The front desk manager has no heart and has a cold- hear. He never showed any sympathy about the tragic event that had occurred. BEWARE of this establishment if you have an emergency arise. They will not work with you at all to resolve and issue. Tyler is the front desk manager!!!As you can see from the reply from Tyler (Front Desk Manager) he can’t even read the review correctly. The death happened on the day of check-in. Tyler, if I was able to see the future I would have cancelled during that “reasonable cancellation period.” Tyler you are a cold hearted person. I will NEVER stay there, even if it was the only place to stay. I would rather sleep in my car than stay there. I assume from other reviews that I have read other people feel the same way. Karma will play her game, I promise you that!
