They are terrible, I don’t think they are teaching their students right if they are treating the animals that way. Open weeping wound when I picked up my dog which later caused a bone infection. The treatment for the bone infection was horrific and expensive. My dog, a Great Dane lost 35 lbs on the medication she had to take. Don’t risk your loved ones here!!!

I want to mention my appreciation for the small animal clinic, in particular Dr. Sypniewski. We just moved here from New York City. Our family dog began experiencing acute respiratory distress. Dr. Sypniewski accommodated seeing her in short notice. Her reassuring bedside manner quickly calmed my anxiety and feelings of guilt. The students were professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Sypniewski returned to explain their assessment and did so in an engaging and informative manner. Thank you for having quality clinicians and I'm thankful to know your students and future students have such a wonderful mentor!

Absolutely the best care for our Chatterbox the goose. Chatterbox had a accident where his skin under his lower beak was ripped. Chatterbox tongue was hanging out. Doctor Hugo Gonzalez and staff fixed Chatterbox. Absolutely the best care.

I brought my 7yr old cat in because he had a fever and an infected foot. They (Dr.Patel) charged me $900 to clean his foot and do lab work. They did not get his fever down or give him oral antibiotics. I called them to try to get him help and they told me since it has been over 24hrs I would have to pay another initial fee of $165 and it would go up from there! I’m am extremely angry! I can’t afford another veterinarian for him and it was okay with them if he died! They told me they cannot give out free care! Don’t take your beloved pets there! It will be the last doctor they see!

Brought our dog in thinking he would pass away based on his pain and behavior. The staff and doctors were so fabulous and worked with us and him in a friendly, caring and professional manner. He suffers with a bunch of anxiety and they were so accommodating. After his surgery, he came out like a champ and recovered so well! The doctors here saved our boy!

I brought my chinchilla here (reluctantly at first because seeing the not so great reviews kind of frightened me) but two local vets recommended them so i drove almost two hours from tulsa county and i was not disappointed! Although I was already pretty sure of what was going on with my pet, they were the only vets i’ve seen thus far who knew what they were talking about and what was going on with him. I had been to two other “exotic” vets previously who did not catch my pets sickness and since i was told it was nothing, it got worse. But OSU (pretty sure it was Dr. Gonzalez and a tech) asked lots of questions and wrote it all down and were very thorough about explaining everything + all the options available for me and my pet. They also gave me multiple papers to bring home that talk about what they found in his CT scan which i liked having also. Although the prognosis wasn’t the best or what i hoped to hear, it’s good to know i can try to maintain a good life for my pet for as little or as long as he has left. My chinchilla stayed overnight after his CT scan and teeth filing and i drove back to pick him up the next morning, my only complaint is their wait times are VERY long - but otherwise i have no other complaints and would definitely recommend to others!

I can not be happier with the care my potbellied pig received from the wonderful doctors and staff here! I had to drive all the way from Texas to get her the medical attention she needed. They not only performed the surgery she needed but they treated her like the spoiled house pig she is and truly cared about her well being!

Called so many times to get the results of my dogs distemper test. Extremely unorganized and very expensive but we were willing to get her the help. Guess it doesn’t matter since she died a week later anyway.. drove an hour there and back, twice, paid $2000 and was lied to basically and never got results back. Front desk is rude as hell also.

We are very disappointed in the service and care that our bloodhound received from OSU Veterinary Medical Hospital. He had cruciate ligament repair on his back elbow. After the surgery, he contracted MRSA. While the staff at OSU is very friendly, they took no responsibility for the MRSA. Our vet called on our behalf and the person at OSU relayed that if we decided to euthanize our pet, they had someone there (whether it was a student, doctor or staff member, we have no idea) that would like to adopt him….after we had paid all the costs of course. We transferred our boy to our vet’s care. He is now home and doing wonderful. Next time, if our local vet cannot do the surgery, we will head out of town. We will not be using OSU.

They literally savedy cat's life, she's now 21 and acting like herself again! The vet we had been seeing for three years prior lied to my face about my cat's health and basically said I should probably just put her down because of her age at our final check up. To say I was livid at them is an understatement. We moved 1500 miles and within two days of arriving she declined very quickly. She was in the hospital 3 to 5 nights a week for the first month and everyone was there to answer questions and get us a room to visit in when they were holding her overnight. Every person we encountered was kind, professional, and really helped me get through some very difficult times when we first arrived to Oklahoma. We were then assigned to her primary care physician who specializes in elderly/geriatric cats and also uses acupuncture as a treatment option. Yes, I'm that cat lady that has to schedule around my cat's acupuncture appointments. My concerns were listened to, they were straight forward and came up with a treatment plan since a few of her health issues shouldn't have been there (extreme tooth decay, the old vet claimed her teeth were perfect for years when clearly they were not) and focus on what would bring her the best possible life for as long as we can. We celebrated her 21st birthday in February and we wanted to include everyone that had been with her for the last six months with cake and sparkling wine.... Okay, I may have sent cookies to the reception and students, but carrying my cat in her box of doom and a cake was asking for a lot, plus it's a hospital and drinking while handling sharp needles is frowned upon, so yeah.... Cookies. I've seen some people commenting on the price so I'll dip my toes in here. After hours emergency services are expensive, and their ER service is comparable if not a little lower than other places I've taken any of my pets to. For regular hours, they are again well inline with other vet practices, but we have at least three sets of eyeballs every visit in addition to the techs (who are fabulous) for that price.

During the week my dog was in the ICU here, I genuinely debated what kind of rating I'd give this place. On the vet side of things, I was beyond pleased. I believe whole-heartedly these are some of the most capable vets I've met. They're thorough, knowledgeable, and able to provide top-notch care. The true reason I'm giving this place 5-stars, before I get to the negatives, is because of the vet students. Doctors, they were amazing, but the vet students are what I truly believe were my dog's saving grace. They took him for walks, they got him to eat, and they gave him all the love that I couldn't give when we could only visit for a short period of time each day. They listened to me, they called with updates frequently, and they comforted me when I was really struggling. They're the unsung heroes here! Now, the bad. This place is expensive, like beyond expensive. However, you have to take into account that the doctors are highly skilled and they have the best equipment in the state. We were extremely fortunate to have pet insurance and savings. Some people aren't that lucky. We aren't rich by any means, but it broke my heart to think that if we did make less money, we would've had to put our dog down on day 1 and that didn't seem fair to me. They don't offer payment plans. My fiancé and I are both alums, he's a first responder, and I'm a university employee, but there are no discounts. To put it in perspective, without accounting for our pet insurance policy, I essentially gave them back 20% of my yearly salary. But, we were in an extreme circumstance that required intense care. Also, and maybe this is just coming from someone who's from the mental health field, I do think there needs to be some sort of accommodations for people who are facing these crises. Listen, we bleed orange at our house, but it's not exactly the most calming color when you're upset. I said multiple times that I wish there was a human coordinator who worked there just to provide support. Dogs are family too and for some people it is a heartbreaking experience to watch your pet hurt like that.Moral of the story: my dog is home and alive and that's what I really want to focus on. Had we not taken him here, he wouldn't be with us anymore. He's a huge part of our lives and while it did cost a fortune, it was worth every penny. He's been out for one week and they've still managed to check on him multiple times since discharge. Do remember that it's not the staff's fault that prices are so high. I am grateful for this place!

Not a place that can actually help your animal unless your made of money. It being a student vet hospital it should be a more cost effective sense they are learning on our animals.I am unable to help my dog sense I can’t afford their thousands of dollars. And there is no payment plans to help either

ALL ANOUT MONEY AND DONT KNOW HOW TO HANDLE TIME SENSITIVE LIFE OR DEATH ISSUES. Came here with a choking cat who could die on the spot and she told me without 150 exam fee they would not get the doctor. I said I don't need an exam can you just look at his throat? She said no. 150. I was sobbing I said okay so my cat is going to die because I can't pay 150 dollars? She said I guess so. A 150 dollar exam fee where every other get in town charges 50-65. Literally robbing people who just want to make sure their animals are okay. I ha don choice but this vet because it was the only 24 hour I could find. Side note; I got the 150 and they looked in my cats throat and he is safe and sound and home now. Please note during my three hour wait there was no coffee and no water. For 150 each, some coffee would be great. Also, Have been here once with a cat who's life I saved and had to surrender. She was hit in the road. They told me they would update me on her status as soon as they knew. Then they had me sign a paper. Then they told me I would not be updated about the cat bevause of the paper I signed. Do not sign any paper here without reading!
