Picked up a car in Idaho Falls, drove it around town for a couple of days then to Oklahoma. The pickup time was 12 noon, and they would not allow us to get the car early, not even any minutes til noon without charging for an extra day and altering the drop off time on the other end of the trip. Not a big deal I suppose, but we had to hang around the airport for an hour, until 12 noon on the dot. Pretty sure the car we got had not been cleaned very well as there was dog hair in the back seat and cargo area. Hubby noticed a little doggy smell back there as well. We noticed the oil change sticker said next service at 19,000ish miles, but the car had 46,000ish miles on it. Guess they don't service the cars either. It ran okay and got us home. On the Oklahoma end, the drop off was by 12 noon on a Saturday, and they close at 12 noon. Big sign says no drop off after hours. Not very handy. Any unforseen problems with our trip could have been disaster. If we missed the noon deadline with no after hours drop off, we would have been stuck with the car until Monday morning. Two more days rental etc, and Hubby would have missed work. We would have chosen their competitors for a rental car to avoid this, but the other guys did not have any available cars for our dates. All in all, the people we dealt with were very nice and courteous. The car was a newer model and everything worked. It got us where we needed to go, but the apparent lack of basic service to the engine was a major concern. Might think long and hard before renting from Avis again.

Same as other reviewers, they make up bogus reasons to pad the bill. They claim the customer is responsible for routine washing and vacuuming of the car before return. Obviously this is not standard industry practice.

Charged ridiculous fees! Ended up paying more than double what I'd pay somewhere else. I had no choice as where I was broke down didn't have options. This was terrible!

Miracle worker and life saver...that's what Pam was for me and my family the Wednesday prior to Memorial Day Weekend.2 hours into a 12 hour trip from Wichita toward Huntsville, AL, our van began to overheat. Made it to an O'Reilly's in Stillwater for some coolant, got back on the road and 15 minutes into being on the Cimmaron Turnpike, it was evident the trip to Hunstville wasn't going to happen. We pulled off to the side of the turnpike and began making calls to insurance for a tow. 30 minutes into our predicament, a Cimmaron Patrolman stopped and offered to take me back into Stillwater to rent a vehicle. Avis/Budget was my 4th and final stop. You see, with 7 total passengers and luggage to match, finding a van or SUV going into MDW was going to take nothing short of a miracle. No challenge too great for Pam...she found me a new Suburban to rent for 24 hours to get my family to Grand Lake (contingency plan). I can't imagine how differently our holiday weekend might have gone had it not been for Pam being willing to go the extra mile to help my family out. Thank you, Pam!

Not all Avis, but Oklahoma City Airport location was by far the worst rental experience ever. They rented me a car that had a spare tire (small, narrow, and rated for low speed) installed instead of a real tire. Avis put my life at risk, but they would not admit it. The site manager proved to be a master at deflecting all blame for Avis negligence to me (how could I not notice the spare tire?), the contractor that washes their cars, everybody! But not Avis. Laughable if it wasn't almost tragic. Shame on Avis location at OKC.

This car rental service is absolutely bogus. Preying on people for free money by charging extra for cleaning charges when the car is clean and tidy already. I have asked what exactly they cleaned and got no response from them.

Avis location in Stillwater ok has a miserable woman named Pam Poe running the place who is lazy and wants something for nothing. She charged my ex husband a $450 cleaning fee for exterior dust an interior crumbs and a few pieces of hair when we did not have any animals in the car, on a one day rental that was already costing over $500 because it was a one way drop off. Pam Poe, do ur job. It is what u get paid to do.

Really good service from this location. But you can only return rentals during office hours. So plan accordingly

The staff was not good and they just throwed the paper on the customers face while returning the car, they told that you have taken the car for a very low cost and so that you should be charged for extra 50bucks, is this fair? Please stop taking cars from AVIS STILLWATER Because they are making random cleaning fee and for no reason they are throwing the bills on the face of customer and the staff are really very rude and they are not polite.I request you to please not to rent the card from Stillwater Avis.It was really a very very very bad experience faced with them.

Pam is the definition of a someone who hates their life and it shows. If there were any other options in Stillwater this place would be out of business.

Please heed the many negative reviews and do NOT rent from this location. Initially, the staff was very nice and helpful. But after return everything went downhill fast! We had the option to return Friday or Saturday morning for the same price but we opted for Friday so we could rest Saturday. We did arrive at 5 on Friday and Pam did let my husband in (her choice, and at the time it was appreciated). She took the keys and made no inspection or comment on the "condition" of the outside of the car- just told him he was good to go and have a good weekend. Now we have a $75 cleaning fee bc of sand on the inside and BUGS on the outside. You know...like the same bugs everyone has from driving a car. I called and she was very defensive and rude from the start. She admitted that most larger Avis rentals do not require you to detail the car before returning but her location is smaller and she has to clean the cars herself so she does expect everyone to take it to a car wash before returning. I asked how in the world we were supposed to know and she referred to a sign stating the car had to be in the same "condition" as it was at pickup. To us, that means no damage (i.e., scratches ,tears, stains, etc). I asked her how we were supposed to know she meant that differently than ALL the other locations and she no kidding in many hateful and unprofessional words call me and my husband too stupid to read. FYI folks, she won't directly admit it but there is nothing in writing saying you have to take it to the carwash. She is exploiting a vague Avis sign. Then we had words and she hung up on me. I've seen where Pam replies to reviews defending herself with the same hateful, unprofessional tone so let me be clear- it would have cost us the same to return Saturday morning and had she specifically said "take this car to the carwash before returning" we absolutely would have. Any effort to dispute her poor communication (as evidenced by all of the other reviews saying the same thing) is met with yelling (yes, actual yelling) and insults.

Son left his really important papers in car, could not get through to anyone for days then was told they threw it away. Yes, his fault he left in car but it was important escrow papers. They should have called and asked him if he needed them.

Good customer service. Wish rates were a little lower, but what can you do... Ding on stars because they don't have Sunday hours. Would have returned the truck early.
