After speaking with the guy at the N Harrison location, I was impressed with his kindness and how well he explained everything. Since he did not have the size available to rent, he suggested contacting this location. I happily called only to be met with such rudeness. The lady I spoke with was not kind, seemed annoyed when asked for clarification on the insurance requirement. Then, after sharing my experience with a family member I learned this lady was rude to her as well. The lady also was less than honest about fees and prices which greatly increased my family member's rate. Also, after calling multiple times to clarify about requirements when ready to move out, the lady changed what she told my family member and it ended up costing her more even after moving out and following employee's original requirements. I already found a unit at a different company simply for the poor and rude customer service skills the lady displayed. Now I will never use them and I tell friends to avoid it.

Since I am unable to respond to your response, I will just update my original comment. I would like to point out my review was prompted by the curt reception my inquiry received the other day. Since neither employee had not asked for a name and number, how would you have a record of me calling? On that same note, how did she know the identity of my relative in order to call her? Yes, the overall relationship while my relative’s stuff was in storage was positive, minus a few negative interactions, it doesn’t change the fact the employee didn’t seem to want my business that day. The response to my negative review seems to have the sole purpose of deflecting to a more favorable experience with this employee then placing blame on family members instead of owning the rude reception my call had presently received which only adds to the validity of my original review.

Would steer clear of this location and Tecumseh (same property manager). Only put two stars because the regional manager takes care of his customers.

Too many restrictions, if I'm going to store my things somewhere & pay top $$ to do so I sure as hell better have 24hr access to it & you have to have your own insurance to rent here.. first I've ever heard of this.. another thing that concerns me, has anyone ever said"give me someone to call so I can verify you.." ? I was floored as this person held my commercial up to date drivers license & credit card in their hand and proceeded to ask this of me in order to finish paperwork. NO ONE has ever asked me to bother someone else while working no less to verify me.I move forward cause now I'm heated a little & curious how this conversation will go, I give her a buddies # he answers & this person tells my buddy who they are & that they are calling to verify me & not sure she knew or not but I have really good hearing & I can hear my buddy on the phone & he replies with "ok" she says thank you & hangs up. Not saying a word I'm in shock almost.. I move forward & continue my day from there puzzled as why any of that even took place.-Here's my review

American Self Storage has convenient access off of Hwy 177. The facility is clean, spacious, and secure with coded gate entry. The manager is very friendly and helpful who makes a point to become familiar with her customers for added security.

Very polite and professional. Reserved a truck and uhaul messed it up somehow. The manager at this storage facility helped me get it all straightened out. I also have a unit at this location. Very well taken care of and there is surveillance here as well.

They need more employees. 10 days notice before moving out is way too long.
