The person who is doing the work at the machine shop at napa in ponca city does NOT know what they are doing. I paid them nearly 300 dollars to do a valve job on a 4 cylinder head. They claimed to have replaced all of the intake valves because they said they were bent. However, when I received the cylinder head back you could see daylight through every single valve with the camshafts installed. Not only were the valves not shimmed correctly the head was not able to be used in that condition due to having 100 percent leak down. So it went back to be fixed again. When I received the head back the second time you could still see light through some of the valves with the cams installed and loaded. I decided to remove the valves to lap them because it appeared that had not been done either and found that they didnt replace any valves. They only claimed to have replaced the valves to get more money out of me. The head still had the same valves as when I took it to them to get the work done. Do yourself a favor and find a more reputable machine shop. Another thing Id like to mention is that these valves were only grinded at one angle. They should be ground with at least two angles. It sure is a pity that you cant get quality work done hardly anywhere anymore. So not only am i out several hundred dollars from having this customers vehicle take up one of my bays for the last two months waiting on poor machine work but at the end of the day after being to napa machine shop and back twice I still had to take a whole day to clean up their poor work.
