I am utterly appalled by U.S. Cellular's blatant disregard for customer rights and privacy. Recently, I discovered that the company places a device admin app on purchased phones that effectively locks users out of their own settings. This is not only unethical but also a severe breach of trust.When I purchase a phone, I expect full control over the device, including access to all settings. However, U.S. Cellular has decided that they know better than their customers, restricting access and preventing any meaningful customization or management of our own phones. This overreach is infuriating and completely unacceptable.This device admin app is nothing short of a digital straitjacket. It locks out essential settings, making it impossible to manage security preferences, privacy settings, and other critical functions. This control is not just inconvenient; it feels like a violation of my autonomy and privacy.To make matters worse, U.S. Cellular's restrictive 15-day return policy is designed to trap customers. Even if you discover the issue with the device admin app on the same day of purchase, their policy does not allow you to return the phone immediately. Instead, you are stuck with a phone that doesn't function as expected and cannot be returned promptly due to their draconian policy. This approach is not just customer-unfriendly; it is a deliberate attempt to force customers to keep a product that does not meet their needs or expectations.Moreover, U.S. Cellular's lack of transparency regarding this practice is deeply troubling. Customers are not informed upfront about these restrictions, leading to unpleasant surprises after the purchase. This deceptive behavior erodes trust and undermines the customer relationship.What Information Can the Device Admin App Record?The device admin app deployed by U.S. Cellular has the capability to record a wide range of information, significantly compromising user privacy. This can include:Location Data: Continuous tracking of the device's geographical location.Call and Text Logs: Detailed records of incoming and outgoing calls and messages, including timestamps and contact information.Installed Apps: A complete list of installed applications, potentially including usage statistics and permissions granted to each app.Network Activity: Monitoring of data usage and network connections, including Wi-Fi networks and cellular data usage.Device Usage Patterns: Information on how the device is used, including screen time, frequently used apps, and interaction patterns.Security Settings: Access to and potentially altering security configurations like passwords, encryption settings, and biometric data.System Logs: Detailed logs of system activities and events, which can include errors, system updates, and user actions.In an era where privacy and user control are paramount, U.S. Cellular's practices are not just outdated but downright unethical. This company needs to be held accountable for its actions. I urge fellow customers to reconsider their choices and avoid U.S. Cellular until they respect our rights as consumers and provide the transparency and control we deserve.For those of you that are of a brand loyal mindset, you owe these people nothing. They are not loyal to you and are in the process of becoming T-Mobile. Until we, as individuals, stand together, and hold accountable, these companies that blatantly flaunt their desire for profit over customer service and transparency, things will continue to spiral out of control. Let us stand together and boycott U.S. Cellular until they change their unethical practices and respect our rights as consumers.

Today my mother and I visited US Cellular. We were looking for a new phone. The manager , Jamie helped us pick out a phone just right for my mom. She was so kind and helpful. Isabella helped us and she was so kind to my mother who was nervous about getting a new phone. She took time to set up the phone as my mom had it before and showed her how to use the apps. If you need a new phone service or a new phone you will find the BEST customer service at Okmulgee US Cellular. They have some great deals now as well. We highly recommend!!!
