It has the name "Jesus House " . But there is no Jesus there. It's nothing but AA classes . And the people who they let come over and speak , most of the speakers don't believe in Christ . One case manager named Eric . Every time there is a situation that orrurs , he always makes you feel like it's all your fault. It's a joke . I recommend a real faith based program....... Victory temple in fort worth Texas, Joshua 1:12 fellowship in San Angelo Texas.

I give one star for heart and chrisianity of this place I have a friend that i have known most of my life that is currently in the program this year and the so called director refused to give this person a pass to go to a funeral to say goodbye to the woman that he ccalls mom and she is the one that convinced him to enter the program to begin with they wanna say it isnt in his best interest of recovery aand i say bull. Aperson can retain a lot of regret and baggage by not saying goodbye properly for for this place to call themselves the Jesus house sure isnt cery christian like to me he is giving his all in the program in memory of her and because he truly wishes to better his life and a program that is to help someone throuh steps of progress is going to be a cause of his reget and sadness

If you loose anything? Dont expect anyone to review thier cameras. I thought I had left my phone on the bench when I asked for help I got no compliance. When I asked for a jacket they tried to give me a jacket that a homeless person would wear. Mind you it was the same guy who I asked to look at the cameras for my phone. It seems like this organization only helps people that are going through this program.

This review may seem like it's coming a day late and a dollar short because I stayed there for one month from December 2012 to January 2013. I was discharged from a nice rehab to Jesus House. The rehab was in Texas. I had been residing in Oklahoma for a few years. I no longer had employment, lost everything including my cats, but not my car because it was with me. It was Christmas Eve. I took what belongings I had and drove from the rehab to Jesus House. My first impression was the smell of urine in the main hallway. I found the director, who was Kevin at the time. I told him I didn't think this was going to work out. Right away, he assumed I was being cocky on a high horse. I had to wait a few hours until he did my intake but granted it was Christmas Eve and he was busy with the warehouse. After a couple days, he assigned me to clean the men's restroom by the kitchen that was used by men who were drunk and high. It was a mess. I promptly went to the doctor and got a letter out of doing that. At least let a man clean the men's room. Kevin was furious. He put me in that position in the first place because I was a Physician Assistant. If he was trying to use the tactics of let her have a humility job, I've done enough of that in my life time. It didn't seem like a very Christian thing to do. That's the issue with these places. The ones who kissed up to the administration as good little Bible verse spouting disciples were cared about and plenty knew how to play that game. I believe in God but I don't play games. It was winter when I was there. There was no heat in the ladies room to shower. I just ran the hot water while showering to at least be warm enough while the water was running. There were bedbugs in my room and they did a nice job of gnawing on my limbs. To go to the ladies room in the middle of the night, I had to walk down a flight of steps, walk all the way to the other side of the building then down another hallway. You could pee yourself by then. Plus men staying the night would approach me. The food actually wasn't bad and we got great sweets snacks at 8 pm. I understand it's not supposed to be the Taj Mahal as a homeless shelter. But it needed work. Why should people who are homeless have to be grateful with crumbs? Some people really are homeless for very legitimate reasons and are good people.

If it was not for the Jesus House my life would most definitely be worse. It was a turnining point in my life....a SLOW turn lol. But I made it none the less. Much better management these days I see. God bless.

It works for some... I would recommend the city rescue mission instead for sure... It's sad what they got going on there.. place isn't the problem, it's the people running it etc.. They are playing with ur life.. quit worrying about a grown man and woman saying hi, and get teaching something besides AA. Just saying... U playing with people's lives...
