What an odd experience had here yesterday. I started the day with a dead battery. Got it jumped and was told to go directly and get it replaced. I was referred to Hunter's by a friend. I called and spoke with Terrence at 11:30am who told me they closed at 1pm and stop installing batteries after noon. I told him I couldn't be there until 12:30, so that wouldn't work and I would find another option. He proceeded to hem and haw about whether he could install the battery, and whether there would be an additional charge. Mind you - my next stop had to be for a battery or I would be stranded. Terrence then told me to come on in and he would help me.
I arrived at 12:30 and was told by Terrence that he would let me decide how much I was going to tip him for installing my battery, that it should be cash only, and I could pay for the battery itself with a card. I told him I did not have cash on me. He then pointed me to the Family Dollar next door. I also did not have my debit card, so I ended up buying this man a $40 Visa gift card for what turned out to be less than 5 minutes of his time. As a matter of fact, the entire exchange took 15 minutes and I was out of there 15 minutes before they closed for the day.
I should have and could have gone to Valvoline, Autozone, or any number of other places. I hope Terrence enjoys the $40 tip he made off the back of someone who he persuaded into coming to Hunter's under the guise of being helpful, then gouged. I would give this place zero stars if I could.
