12309 N Council Rd suite 3, Oklahoma City“Hands down best filet cut I’ve ever had in my entire life. When you’re in San Diego you eat fish, when you’re in Oklahoma you eat steak, and there’s no better place to get steak than firebirds! Brenda was incredibly nice and exceptionally helpful when I called ahead of time. I can’t say enough good things about the meat here. It’s worth the drive, trust me.”
“Quality food, superior knowledge, excellent help. Really enjoyed the experience of cooking a crown pork roast for the first time. Got great advise and good service. It was a hit for Christmas Dinner. Thanks to all at Bill Kamp's.”
“I've been going to Wheelers for years. Prices have always been fair with quality meat and super friendly staff. Now the meat is 3-4$ more per pound.(side note, your buying at least 1-2lbs of fat) which wasn't a big issue bc I cooked and fed fat to animals. Now with the prices I can't even afford their steak much less all the fat. When you ask the lady behind the counter if there's a particular reason for the price hike, she gets an attitude and says "I just work here" and then proceeds to kinda slide your order across the counter at you and turn away with an attitude. That's never happened before with ANYONE. It's a fair question. I loved this place for a very long time and spent good money. Now, it's back Walmart.:(

As the received response from Wheelers is truly appreciated with an honest response, I will raise my review and rating. I shop here for the quality of the meat overall. Thank you.”
“Consistent and distinct, Schwab Meats made in Oklahoma (MIO) meats have starred in Coit's and Love's menus and so many other restaurants and convenience stores or venues like church or sports fundraisers for years. This is a taste locals crave. Linked to professional and college sports venues. Items are available in local grocers, but are also available at the point of manufacture on Linwood just West of downtown OKC. You can now order online too, and can ship these hickory smoked favorites across the country. This makes great corporate gifts, representing good will, or just a taste of the Southwest. Schwab offers everyday faves like hot dogs and the classic brick chili. But they also offer specialty meats, like holiday ham, turkey or beef. I personally am hoping for T-Shirts. :) Thanks y'all.”
“Good looking meat, really good prices, friendly staff. The meat was as good as it looked, it was better even. Definitely coming back, and I plan on making a habit of it.”
“I like it, it is a very good place, I recommend the butcher shop and above all the cuisine, the beef broth is my favorite food. They have more dishes like carne azada, barbecue, carnitas and different stews.”
“I do not even like steak. Any steak I have ever had was tough or over cooked. Restaurants steak is all I have to go off of but my wife got some steak from here and omg it was soooooo juicy, tender and had such an amazing taste!!!! When you stop in you should get some of the mashed potatoes too! ❤️”
“There's this great little meat market store just down the road on 29th near Western; this store is the supermarket big sibling version at May & 29th in what used to be a Buy For Less. What they do, they do well. Each department stocks fresh offerings, everything is clearly priced and labeled, except the aisles. If you are looking for the helper signs for each aisle, then you have to be at the front of the store, minor oversight on their part. Their fresh veggie selection is second to none. Their selection of bulk items (nuts, dried fruits, etc.) is hit or miss, but I found things here I haven't found elsewhere, & I felt like I hit the jackpot with my shaved coconut find. They have the amazing La Michoacana house-made fresh queso in the deli. Speaking of the deli, it's huge. Come here for all your backyard grilling needs and leave satisfied. Who knew there were so many tortilla offerings to chose from? Find all the offerings you could imagine here. Looking for a big birthday cake? They bakery has you covered. Whenever I'm in a Latin American grocery store I also love to peruse the kitchen gadgets section, and theirs doesn't disappoint. In all it's amazingness, this store does not carry all your traditional American grocery store brands and offerings (thank heavens, right?!?) If you are looking for the Latinx version of something, you'll find it here. If you are looking for the gringo version, shop elsewhere. April 2022”
“I went down to their store to use a gift card I had. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful. One of the owners helped me with picking out meats. He helped me make the best choices for what I wanted. Each box comes with cooking instructions too. The ribs and fillets have such a flavorful taste. The best I have ever had. I will definitely be going back”
