Trying to save some money, I opted for the first time to use Budget instead of U-Haul. But they confirmed the meaning, "You get what you pay for." First off Don, the president and owner tossed my card and Drivers License across the counter, which I felt was very rude, the ramp was full of bird poop, which I tried to sweep up, but couldn't due to the fact that it was obviously there for a while, then upon entering the bed of truck after beginning the loading process, the bed of truck was old rickety wood, full of questionable stains, the smell of cat urine and visible pet hair. I was so nervous loading my boxes and household goods into this vehicle, but with a time crunch, I had to do what was necessary at the time. I will never use this truck rental again, I'd rather pay the extra and get a clean bed 100% of the time. Sorry U-Haul for not utilizing your services, being a cheapskate.

DO NOT RESERVE FROM THIS LOCATION!!This is my first experience with Avis and will be my last. This location (509 E MemorialRd. Edmond, OK) has Horrendous customer service, attitude, cleanliness and preparedness.I utilized my AARP card to receive a discount on a week long reservation. After dropping my car off for repairs at the dealership and taking their shuttle to this location, I was told they did not have anything available in the size I reserved. My options were a pickup truck ... which is not an option due to the amount and size of items (that must be secured) for work ... or I could pay more money for the next larger size.Don Hopper (President agency operator) was rude, disrespectful and could have cared less that I was stranded at their office. When I said this was their problem to fix, he slapped my license and credit card on the counter and said they would call me when they had a vehicle. I was floored and told him I would take the upgrade at the same price, and he said he would not do that ... "I have given you the options".I needed to get to work and asked if he would be driving me (since they had nothing readily available) and his very belligerent response was "No!" I asked how he planned to resolve the situation and he stated again "I have given you your options." This office was completely UNPREPARED, and offered nothing that was appropriate for My situation or needs. Finally, he tells me cars were due back, and PERHAPS, one of them would be available.I sat in the lobby waiting (stranded), was now late to work, and the car they eventually gave me was FILTHY, and had an overpowering smell of cat pee.I went inside to tell the other gentleman, and he came out and said he couldn't smell anything (likely because he is used to the overpowering, offensive odor in their lobby). Every single seat in the vehicle had disgusting stains, dog slobber on the back door handle and arm rest, and I was toldthey had nothing to be able to get the stains out of the seats. Only because I was desperate for a vehicle, did I take it. I do not want to put myself, much less my child in this bacteria Petri dish.I filed a formal complaint with Avis corporate today, and was told I could go to any Avis location and exchange the car....which was a complete hassle. However, at the airport location, I encountered a very helpful young man, who not only apologized profusely, but upgraded my vehicle at no extra charge. My experience with the airport location was wonderful. The photos do not do justice to how bad this car looked ... and the smell was so overpowering, I drove with the windows down to try and eliminate the obvious urine (and perhaps) fecal odor. Stay away from the Edmond location. It is acomplete disaster and they have no accountability or business acumen. **** Evening Update: After reading all of the terrible reviews and how people were cheated out of money by this location and individual, I just checked my back account ... for the entire week, the price is $360.11. I asked multiple times about the charges and Don, in a very condescending voice, tells me it is a total of 360.11 (if I bring the car back on time and with a full tank of gas). No problem. They charged my card $548.64!! Not one time did he say I would be charged substantially MORE than what we discussed. I will be calling first thing in the morning to file a second complaint. This is beyond ridiculous!

Very rude staff. I denied buying the Avis insurance which costs $450.... and the desk employee became very angry and passive aggressive. I would never come back or deal with these people again. Go ANYWHERE but here

Rude, incompetent, unprofessional. They rented me a car that had a defective tire. I had to take time out of my trip to have the tire replaced at my expense and they refused to reimburse. They said that I should have inspected all of the tires before I left the lot. Never again.

Absolutely a waste of time and completely unprofessional. I spent 40 minutes waiting in line and DID NOT get the car I reserved a week in advance. Never apologized for the waste of time and his resolution to the problem was call reservations.

Horrible. The man was rude to us and talked to us like we're stupid because we asked basic questions about our rental. Had to go back inside and get him to make sure all the existing damage was reported and he acted like it was a problem, his attitude alone made him unpleasant. The headlight was out, break light was out, and the ports on the dash didn't work so we couldn't charge phones on a 20 hour drive. There was Arby's trash tucked in the corner behind the seat. Literally never using budget again, only used them because uhual didnt have the tow trailer available the day we needed it unless they went and got it 3 hours away. Which they were fully prepared to do for us.#Uhaulforever

0 StarsI rented a car for almost 2 weeks to go, see my dying grandmother halfway across the country. The car broke down within hours of our trip because the oil cap was not put on properly, so we were breathing in smoke from the oil while driving. I called the one 800 number and they basically told me there's nothing they can do And I needed to get to the nearest airport. I had to drive 30 mph to Atlanta, Georgia and got to the airport at 1:30 in the morning just for the great employees of Avis to be assholes to me and my young son while we have been stranded on the side of the road for hours to get a replacement car. They again said there's nothing they can do until I bring it back to the Oklahoma City location. Once brought back, I was told I would get one day of reimbursement. I informed them that not only did we have to pay $150 for a hotel room but we also wasted two days because of their rental cars mechanical issues and I was not able to be with my grandmother while she was Dying. Not much sympathy. The only positive thing I will say is the girl that was working upfront was very sweet, but obviously it has nothing to do with her. I will never ever again rent from this company and the fact that they only offered me one day of reimbursement is a complete slap in the face when a single mom and her nine-year-old son were stranded on the side of the road halfway across the country not knowing where we were and we're forced to drive breathing in oil smoke to Atlanta airport at 1:30 in the morning.

Truck was nit ther wen I got ther and the guy did my contract before the truck was ther. He did not maintenance check the vehicle. Had problems from git go. If ther was another truck available I wudv taken the truck I was given.Didn't want to go into gear, front end shook, steering loose, hanging up at 4k to 5k rpms n had to out truck in neutral to fmdrop rpm, brakes hummed super loud, and the say I went to take it back, I almost called n told them to come tow it bcuz it didn't want to start or go into gear. Took 1 n 1/2 tanks of gas to drive 4hrs. (Oklahoma City to Abilene) Very sad and very ridiculous n I was told if thr fluid levels are gud, then it's gud to b rerented to another customer to endure the same problems. So BEWARE RENTING FROM THESE PEOPLE! NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE (Typical Oklahoma Laziness)

They waited till 2 days before our scheduled pickup for a 26 ft truck to call and tell us we could have a 16 ft for the average rate because they dont have the truck we reserved...we had our truck booked for over a month. No willingness to right their wrong and a nonchalant attitude. So we'll definitely never do business with budget again.

Stay far away from this place!! I booked a 26 foot truck over a month ago and when I show up today to pick it up so I can move cross country, they tell me they don’t have it. Don Hopper then tells me I can pay more for the 16 foot truck. Which obviously didn’t make me happy, so he then offers a 16 foot truck at the same price. However I will have to throw furniture away if I do that. Don does nothing else to help and makes me call and talk to a half dozen people to finally get another truck found which I am now having to Uber to. When I asked Don to help make the situation right in some way he says he can’t/won’t do anything for me and I have to call corporate after to do anything about it.

Just booked a car from Avis for my January 2022 trip to Savannah, GA. When I selected the car and made my reservation, the price showed less than $769.87 for a week, after I paid and looked at the receipt they sent it to me, the total became $849.60 (I still have to pay the rest at pickup). I called back immediately and canceled it and I was told I would be charged $50 cancelation fee. I found the exactly same car through Expedia that only charged $702 with free cancelation. Will never use Avis again.

Make sure to take pictures of the inside of the car before you return it. Was charged for non existent animals being in the car. I had actually vacuumed the car before returning it because of all the notes that said they will charge for overly dirty car. Two friends said they had the same problem, wish I had asked around first.

Try not to use Avis, but if you do, don't rent from this location. I had a reservation for a suburban for 7 days. They called 3 hrs before my pick up time and said they didn't have a suburban. I needed the extra space and was stuck. They also wouldn't honor the lower internet price for a mini van. The staff was great but don't use Avis.

I booked my Avis reservation on Priceline from Overland Park, KS to Oklahoma City, OK for business meetings. When picking up the car, the lazy Avis worker told me I could (more conveniently) take my car to Stillwater, OK airport if I wanted--and it would cost the same. I drive over and arrive to the airport late that night; however, there was not even an Avis at the airport!! So I drive to the nearest Avis only to find out they do not allow afterhour dropoffs! Now, it's very late and I'm doubly misled by the lazy worker--so I call customer service. An Indian-sounding man on the phone tells me to try again in the morning and "maybe" that local Avis will help me. Not reassuring, but okay. Now my business meetings are in jeopardy... you know, the point of my trip. I wake up early that morning after a long night and call Avis in Edmond, OK (to help make my meetings). They harshly offer no help, and tell me I must go to Oklahoma City. So I call Oklahoma City and they insist I will have to pay all sorts of late fees, potentially even an extra day charge, as if this was my fault. No apologies, no searching out the truth--what a sham! As I'm driving the hour and half to OKC, I call the corporate headquarters. By this time, I've been on the phone hours. They said I must pay all fees now, and they will get to my situation in about a week. Eh, I'm not counting on their investigation or a refund. The best thing I did that day was get rid of the rental car. "Customer service" is just a pretense in this company--as everyone I talked to spoke "by the script" and not from an actual "thinking" perspective. It all started with that lazy kid in Overland Park, but the incompetence runs everywhere.

Extremely poor customer service and location.
