“Absolutely love their selection. I will definitely be back. I love how they not only have a ton of Oklahoma authors, but it they also have a lot of Indigenous authors in stock! As an Indigenous person it is always very uplifting to find representation.”
“Driving through town and I always love to stop in a local bookstore. I found Commonplace on Google and was immediately drawn to their “About” section on their website. What a cool concept for a bookstore! I had to stop by and it was great. Definitely worth a stop even if you’re driving through. Diverse selection of books. It felt very thoughtful and intentional.”
“Like any other event that’s planned, one never knows how many people will show up on the day of the event. I had settled on reading to an audience of 20 people due to the cold weather and a possibility of ice and snow. Three days before the event the venue was not ready to host anything. I received a call from my son who said that things were coming together as well as the invites. I thought “ guest, mayhem, bad weather” WOW! I decided not to think of what was happening.I took deep faith in success based on the reputation of the citizens of OKC. These people had been through the same experience which me and my family had in the ‘60’s in the Deep South. Jim Crow. Oklahoman’s are good people, wovrking people and hold no malice in heart.
This was displayed as people of all nationalities and professions,flowed into Nappy Roots as soft jazz played before they listened to the stories of “My Selma” by the author WillieMaeBrown.
The event drew over 70 people of different ages, 8 and up (1) toddler quietly played on the floor.
After the reading several important questions were asked as hands shot up into the air. Books were sold and refreshments offered. The author walked floor to the people, shaking hands, giving hugs and thanking the people.
This beautiful place owned by a wife and husband had brought together one of the most beautiful and warm gathering i have experience since last year.
No one really wanted to go home. Lots of people wanted to ask the author more questions. And the talk went on until “Boston “( MC) approached the microphone and thanked the people for coming.
I am certain that more and more readings and book signing will continue in this wonderful venue. Nappy roots is for everyone.

**There is a restroom, warm water, to wash your hands, paintings by local artist, african drums, good parking, places to read inside the store, and last, but not least good conversation with Wendy ,Camille, Dee, and anyone else that may be there. Enjoy yourself. You have the right.”

“I absolutely love this book store. It also has toys, craft kits, games, and vinyl records. I love getting gifts from her for others. My kids enjoy going there as well. I get school books and things for college studies. If you have books you need to get rid of, maybe you have duplicate copies, you can sell them to them. I have even purchased a set of DC comic glass wear and an anime bento lunch box from them. They have several locations, so be sure to check them out.”
“The atmosphere is not loud or busy. It was the perfect meeting spot for my son, daughter-in-law and me. We stayed for four hours and they never blinked an eye. The Americano was great. My son had a turkey wrap, which he enjoyed. We actually found a book on Japan, which we had discussed, in the Cafe. Very friendly environment.”
“This is a wonderful college that educates young adults on the importance of having a biblical and Christ like walk with God, while focusing on training them to be pastors, missionaries, youth workers, and Christian educators to name a few. This is an incredible college and has done amazing work training the future ministers of today.”

“This store is solely for pilots or if you work at the FAA. The store is okay as it does provide you with an online website to check out their merchandise. I would add five stars if they could get different polo shirt colors, jackets, and baseball caps. The selection is minimal but they do provide a good variety. I purchased several mugs and an FAA lanyard that was shipped out to my location within a day. Quick shipping is a plus!”
