We have used Southwest Vet for 17 years. The doctors and staff are always friendly and knowledgeable. Their prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

They have taken such great care of my dogs for so long. They really do care. When I lost my 16 year old Cocker even the Veterinarians cried.

My partner and I have made dozens of trips to the Southwest Veterinary Hospital over the past year (2023-2024). Dr. Caleb Cline, his father Dr. Aaron Cline, and all of the staff have consistently gone above and beyond to take care of 3 of our cats while we dropped in almost every week. The team has always been very kind, thoughtful, and thorough in the work they do. They are also very upfront and transparent about prices–going out of their way to save us money on more than one occasion–even if that wasn’t our primary concern. Our cat Toffee, who Dr. Caleb diagnosed with Cushing’s disease (very rare in cats), likely wouldn’t be alive today if Dr. Caleb had not taken our concerns seriously. He proved himself as a dedicated and research-based vet who was willing to keep testing Toffee until we had the correct diagnosis–diabetes caused by Cushing’s. We greatly appreciate Dr. Caleb always taking the time to listen to us, as we had already exhausted our options with another vet before we showed up on his doorstep. We can’t recommend this clinic enough! They really do care about your pets. Thank you to all the staff who took great care of Toffee, Ripley, and Nom. We will miss seeing you!
PS: Wait times will vary, but that’s because like other vets, they do triage where the most critically ill pets are seen first. Please be patient and understand that other people might “cut you in line” because their pet has more urgent needs.

When did the staff for Southwest Vet in Goldsby change? I've used them here and there for my cat and the woman who saw him was amazing.
I recently had adopted a dog and this was his established vet, so I took him there when I needed flea and tick preventative. It was a new Vet working there I hadn't met, and he was very rude and he "educated" me on things that didn't make sense (like telling me I had to buy a new collar for my pets every 3 months and that washing them wasnt good enough) or contradicted my own teachings, as I'm a veterinary nurse at a different clinic. For example he said I had to have a heartworm test for my 6 month old dog. From what I understand, the tests would be inaccurate until he was approximately 9 months old and so a waste of money. When I told him I was a vetmed nurse and explained what I had been taught, he got even more rude with me, and the visit just about ended there as I felt he no longer heard a word I said. He asked me what clinic I worked at and then BASHED my clinic forwards and backwards. I understand having your education questioned can be a sore spot but he was trying to charge me for services that would literally be a waste of time as the results would be inconclusive and his reaction and behavior was childish. I would never talk down about another clinic the way he spoke about mine.
I told him I changed my mind on everything and just wanted to pay for my office visit and leave, as I was uncomfortable with him giving care to my dog. and he still filled the medications and ordered services like I hadn't said anything. I had to repeat I was not getting any services and wanted to leave and he huffed at me.
I felt very disrespected, unheard, and was very sad to have had such a bad experience at a place I was previously recommending. I asked the girl at the desk what changed and she just looked sad and said it was a new father son team and they were receiving complaints from other clients as well. I will never be back.

My cat got in a little fight with another cat had a bite on his paw. They got him in quick and made me feel much better and got us taken care of anf the price was half of my low expectations. Second issue fixed quick and with lots of love and care

They are always so caring and helpful. I used this vet for about 25 plus years. I didn't have a pet after mine passed and when I finally got another dog went back. Same veterinarian, great staff and still treated me, as well as my family member like family! Highly recommend this place!

We always get in and out pretty quickly. The vets and techs explain everything first. They love animals, even the less than happy ones. I am impressed.

Since 2021, my dog had been seen at a different vet (VetCo) and was misdiagnosed. This poor dog has been in pain for years and has only been given anti-anxiety meds for treatment. Southwest Vet saw my dog ONCE and actually provided a diagnoses. We are now attempting to treat the dog and save his life. We are thankful. Also, the pharmacist took time out of her day to run discount cards with CVS to make the medication affordable. Without her doing this, the prescription would have been nearly $1k monthly and we could not have done that. Give this vet a try and AVOID VETCO LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Dr Cline is great. He has a lot of experience, and his staff was great too. They handled my dog and our situation very well.
