I just wanted to say thank you to all the nurses I had for my birth on 12/15/2024. There were so many. My birth nurses were fantastic and the one who helped deliver is an angel. I will say postpartum lacked a little for first time parents who needed help and getting donor milk was a struggle for some reason when I didn’t have any milk come in till I got home. Besides that everything was great.

Most of my labor and delivery experience was great! My labor nurse Emily on 12/5/23 was an angel and I’ll never forget her. However, there were no postpartum beds so we were not moved upstairs until 3 am (delivered 4pm). We had a very sleepless night after an already sleepless induction night, due to the moving upstairs in the middle of the night. baby taken for a bath at 3:30 am, lab and respiratory therapy coming in all before 6am (I don’t know why I needed to use an incentive spirometer at 5am after having a baby?! RT even said, oh you don’t need me) we were utterly exhausted and it wasn’t because of the baby. There were really loud noises coming from a water pipe or something too, I thought it was the construction but it wasn’t and it was in the middle of the night often. As first time parents we really had no idea what we were doing, but we had one nurse who showed us so much! Her name was Cindy. She is the only nurse who explained how to tell if diaper was wet, made sure baby was voiding, brought me nipple cream, showed us how to burp, helped my husband do skin to skin etc. Everyone else was just kinda in and out with Tylenol. No true complains, just wish there was more involvement or a dedicated staff member to go over some basics like swaddling if the nurses didn’t have time. I myself am a nurse and understand it can be hard to spend extra time in rooms but something so intricate as a newborn deserves the attention to make sure parents know how to meet babies needs. We had to ask how to swaddle- looking back I laugh but we just really didn’t know and as tired as we were we were not thinking straight.

Don't come here if you have a real emergency, they're happy to let you wait hours suffering.

The only reason I am even giving this place one star is due to the ER doctor we had because he was great, thorough and attentive ! The rest of the employees were terrible ! Showed little initiative, interest in their job, we’re on their phones when things needed to be done, and would only do anything for our room and my partner when I’d go up to the front desk after waiting an hour to see what the hold up was . We got there at 10:30 and didn’t get out of there until 1:20am .. that’s outrageous given the only thing they did was take an X-ray and give him a shot for his pain .. would not recommend going here because these people do not care about their patients and are very inconsiderate of peoples time .

This was my first and last time going to Norman Regional Healthplex ER. AfterI was triaged, I was shuffled into a communal ER patient care room that has tattered curtains separating patient beds. There was no privacy and I could hear all the social security numbers, date of births, and medical issues of the people in the beds beside me. Furthermore, the bed I was assigned to had a flimsy, ripped mattress with only a top sheet covering it and blood splattered onto the bottom plastic mattress pad. The smell of body odor and cigarettes from other patients was pungent and there was no decency of proper sanitation and ventilation. When the DR finally saw me, she spent under 5 minutes assessing my current symptoms, didn’t ask for or review any of my medical health history, and then told me that protocol would be to do bloodwork and for me to follow up with my PCP upon discharge. I spent a hellish time at the ER for symptoms that were never diagnosed nor adequately treated, had minimal actual medical assessment/care and was farmed out supplemental meds to be sent on my way out the door as quickly as possible. I will never, EVER recommend nor go back to Norman Regional ER and am moving all my medical outpatient care to another network facility.

We arrived to the hospital around 8 pm checked in. My wife Bp was 170 over 100. She was having extreme pain in the gallbladder area of her stomach. There was no one else in the waiting room except us. People started coming in with fever, vomiting etc. they placed all of the flu like, covid like symptom people in same waiting area as us without giving them mask. By 10:30 pm not one patient had been called to go back and be seen not one!!that’s when the nurse come around telling everyone they just got an ambulance in and it would be awhile before anyone would be seen for anything!! Multi million dollar hospital cannot see one patient in the emergency room in 3 hrs?? Who would sit a patient back in waiting room with a Bp of 170 over 100 to begin with? Very unprofessional will never recommend to anyone we finally left at 10:30pm never to return. I really hope someone with knowledge of operating a hospital takes over this facility at this point undeserving of any patients and community tax dollars!

I don't see how this place has such horrible reviews. I was treated very well. Most ER'S hurry you out the door when they find out you have no insurance. I was treated as if I had the best insurance you could get. I was given every kind of test until they found out what was wrong with me. Thank you, guys & and girls, for treating me with dignity & respect and helping me through a difficult and scary event.

My husband has been at this hospital since July 21st. He is have an leg amputation done. He was schedule for surgery on July 28th but they had to reschedule the surgery because some one did not take him off of his blood thinners in time, so we understood that things happen we are all human. So the surgery was reschedule to at 9am I get a phone call at 615 this morning from my husband said hey they are fixing to take me down for surgery thankfully I only live about 5 mins away. So they are getting him all prepped surgeon comes in and goes everything then the anesthesiologist tell us we can't do surgery today because the cardo doctor has ran the test that needed to ran. We are both clearing upset I stated I am going to lose my job after this because I have be missing work since my husband has been in the hospital so the anesthesiologist looks at me and said well you don't have to be here for the surgery!!! WTH that is my husband and it is a big surgery for us. So I had to get out of there went up to the room and Cardo doctor came in and was also extremely rude and to for the second time as he doesn't understand our frustration at this point he is putting on someone other than his self. Proceed to tell me that I am be hostile and that I can take my husband somewhere else. So the nurse gave me a number to the patient liaision I have called her all day today no answer I have ask the nurses to please send the case manager to our room no case manager came by I have up there since 7 this morning and no one has tried to help with this. I am very disappointed with this hospital. So Please NORMAN REGIONAL be better at communication between doctor and have better bed side manners!!!!

If you choose this E.R., plan on being there ALL day. I thought my appendix had burst so I headed to the closest hospital. Big mistake. We sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half. When we were finally taken back they put us in a temporary room divided only by curtains. You could hear everyone's business. It then took another hour and a half to get back to get a CT scan. The nursing staff and the doctors were trying to explain to the patients that because there was no radiologists on permanent staff there that the hospital had instead hired out to a third party radiology company called Rad radiology. It took 5 hours to get my results. These nurses and doctors were getting verbally abused because of something outside of their control. This is the hospital itself trying to save money. Apparently they are willing to risk lives to save money and that is scary. The medical professionals were all so kind and apologetic but people were leaving AMA, also known as against medical advice, because of this insane wait. They were literally willing to risk their health rather than be held medically captive. Luckily my appendix hadn't burst because I would have been in dire straits if it had. I wouldn't send any of my family or friends here. This hospital does not care about the health and well being of their community, they are only focused on making money.

Not even worth coming here if you’re in pain. We’ve been sitting in the waiting room for over 2 hours. My mother has been sitting here in pain crying in the EMERGENCY ROOM….. yeah right this place is a whole effing joke.Thank you to Ashly for helping us, she seemed like the only one who actually cared.

We showed up to see our friend in labor and delivery. We called on the red phone and the nurse said for us to wait a few min and she would come grab us. We waited 30 min before calling again and they told us she wasn't here. They would've let us wait out there all night if we hadn't called again. That's really unprofessional and disrespectful. Our friend invited us and we were left clueless.
