I took rods and an engine block that I’m rebuilding to Moore Machine Shop to get cleaned. When I pulled up, the guy seemed bothered just to come out to the parking lot and see how he could help. I told him I don’t know a lot about engines, but I need to get it cleaned. I told him I wasn’t sure if there was any damage to it or not, so he said he’d go through the entire engine and check everything out, go through all the cylinder holes, oil passage holes, drain holes, etc. and make sure it was all cleaned. He said he would remove the freeze plugs, clean inside, and replace with new plugs. He said it would cost $75.
I told him I have the rods and brackets for the mains on the crankshaft also, and asked if he could clean them too and how much extra it would be. He said it wouldn’t cost any extra, just bring them up and he’d take care of it.
When I dropped off the rods and brackets the next day, we talked about having the engine bored out. He said he could do it and I told him think about it. I decided it would be too expensive to take that on right now, so I called back and told him that I just wanted it cleaned for the time being and then I’d bring it back later to be bored out after I saved up a little more cash. He got really annoyed by this and told me to just come pick the engine up and take it home and bring it back when I could afford to do everything at once. I said no thanks, let’s just get it cleaned like we had originally discussed and then I can take my time with the rest. He said it’d take him 3 weeks to get to it. In hindsight, I wish I’d have picked it up and just taken it somewhere else.
The next morning, he called and told me it was cleaned and ready for pickup. I didn’t expect it so soon. It certainly hadn’t been 3 weeks. When I got there, I asked to see it, but he said to pay first and then he’d go get it. So, I paid, and he went and got it. It was just as dirty as the day I dropped it off. It didn’t look like he’d done anything. I told him it was still dirty, and he said he soaked it for a very, very long time. I asked if he replaced the freeze plugs and cleaned inside like we discussed, and he said no. He said that they’re stainless steel from the factory and better than any aftermarket parts he would replace them with. If that’s the case, why did he ever say he would do that? He acted like it was out of the question and said we had never talked about it. I didn’t feel like arguing with him, so I loaded it in the truck and left. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. This guy seemed annoyed from the beginning and was condescending during each of our conversations. It came across like he didn’t want to put in the time or effort for such a small job and was only interested in doing the work if I could afford to pay to have it bored out too and that he didn’t have the time for someone who didn’t know a lot about this kind of work. I wish I’d have insisted on seeing the engine before I paid, because essentially, I paid him for nothing.

They told use our heads where cracked when they weren't at all. They also said they cleaned them and when we got them back they looked really crappie so not really sure what they cleaned. We also didn't get all if our parts back from them. we took 3 sets to them and they told use all of them where cracked I don't believe so when we had someone else look at them all it was was a stress cracked nothing to worry about. thicompany com

Burt was great. I needed a carrier bearing replaced on my drive shaft. Called Tuesday and he told me he could get me on Thursday. GREAT! Brought in the drive shaft on Wednesday at 2:30 pm and he had it done by 4:30pm THE SAME DAY, a whole day early! I’ll be returning if I need anything else done! Only caveat is “bring cash!” No CC accepted.

Burt is the best period ... I've done several builds with him over the last 20 years or so . From a 350hp engine to a 2000 + hp aluminum boosted race motor ! Honest and upfront !

Ive been to this machine shop a couple times, and I have come across half a dozen people who have also used their services. They dont cut corners, and they dont feed you any BS. Very straight forward and knowledgable couple. Prices are also very reasonable. There is only one other place in OKC area would consider taking my engine to.

Threw them a curveball and asked them to port a rb26 head and it came out better than my old naprec rb26 head. Very awesome
