Called a few places in the area, RSS had the best price for a starter replacement for my 2007 Saturn. Everyone was great to talk to and had my car fixed quickly. I will definitely come back whenever I need another repair

Took my car here to get replaced under warranty but warranty would not cover due to a technicality. They were going to charge me a rate which was the average price but informed me to go to try dealership first for repair and told me what they believe the problem is. Whelp it was the problem and they saved me money by telling me to try there first since I had just purchased it. They could have just said here's the price and not add addtl assistance. I will refer and will come here if I have future issues because of the honest business.

The mechanics here are top-notch! The cost of repairs is reasonable considering it's a privately owned business. The turnaround time for repairs is excellent. Definitely recommend you give them a try!

Only place I would ever recommend on getting my vehicles repaired! Ricks is a very knowledgeable shop and they are honest about what is wrong with the vehicle. I honestly believe they pride themselves in making sure your vehicle is safe to drive on the road. They are fairly priced and have great customer service!

TL;DR -
1. RSS tried to gaslight us into believing that my vehicle needed the entire engine replaced for $6,000 (!!!). We got a couple other opinions, and the problem turned out to be that we only needed a new thermostat and radiator cap = easy! We did this ourselves in our driveway for LESS THAN $100.
2. My husband's car AC stopped blowing (after RSS had replaced the whole AC compressor a month prior), so we took it back since the compressor was under warranty. Instead, they claimed it was a leaking evaporator core (not included in the parts under their warranty) that would cost $700+ to replace. We refused and just took the car back, then tried just replacing the AC blower motor (again by ourselves in our driveway, and for only $65), and that fixed it!
Here's the full story:
After one decent/normal experience with RSS, having the AC compressor and belt tensioner on my husband's vehicle replaced a couple of months ago, we decided to take my vehicle in when it started overheating at idle. We figured it might be the fans or thermostat, but RSS tried to gaslight us into believing that my vehicle needed the entire engine replaced for $6,000. We panicked but took it back (still having to pay their $125 "diagnosis" fee if you don't have them complete the suggested repair), then took it to a couple other places for a second opinion. No one else even mentioned replacing the engine. They all agreed that it was a radiator system issue, and the problem turned out to be that we only needed a new thermostat and radiator cap (and we needed to bleed the system), which is easy! So we ended up just replacing them ourselves in our driveway for less than $100.
Back to my husband's car: a month after having the compressor replaced, the AC stopped blowing again (it was intermittent, but at least still cool) so we took it back to RSS since the compressor was under warranty. Instead, RSS claimed the issue was a leaking evaporator core (which was conveniently not included in the parts under their warranty) that would cost $700+ to replace. We refused and just took the car back (again, paying a fee for their "diagnosis"). After some research, we figured it might just be that the AC motor blower was going out since the car is getting old. So we bought the part for only $65 and replaced it ourselves, and that fixed it!
So, the moral of the story is, RSS will gaslight you into believing your car has either a broad issue that requires major mechanical work for hundreds or thousands of dollars to repair (probably as a lazy catchall to fix any problem in that general area without taking the time to diagnose the actual problem); or some bogus other (and sometimes unrelated) issue that they could not have POSSIBLY diagnosed without taking apart the car (and we know they didn't do that in the HOUR between us dropping off the car and them calling with a diagnosis).
Ultimately, please just STAY AWAY from this shop. RSS has lost our trust and our business, and we are warning all of our friends in the area not to give them business.

BUYER BEWARE. Avoid this shop at all costs and go to rapid auto repair. They scammed me out of $3,000 instead of telling me I had a bad engine.

As for the actual work done to my vehicle, it was done in a timely manner and this is the reason for at least the 2 stars. But as for customer service and having a knowledgeable lead mechanic, putting you on track for what your asking for. This is not what this shop is for you. They mislead, and literally leave you in a separate situation they see fit. Be careful over what you ask for for sure. I'm looking for a separate mechanic at this point after dropping 2.7k with RSS.

The check engine light in my car came on and automatically think the worst, I called Rick's to talk to them. They told me I could drop my car off the same day and had answers to me by that afternoon, I was quoted a fair and reasonable price for my water pump to be replaced. Ever since then my car has ran absolutely magnificent. If Ever I have work done I will be taking it back there! The man at the front desk to help me and made sure that everything was taken care of was so nice.
