Gave this 1 star as we stopped to see this and it did not appear to be open. Was glad the fence was open so we could at least visit the OK visitor center next door. This could be a great place for the Indian tribes to showcase what they have on their lands.

I am so proud of the Shawnee Tribe/Nation and the addition of this beautiful Cultural Heritage Center!? I can't wait for Covid-19 to be eradicated in 2020-2021 to hopefully make it inside within a year from now.....?

Cute and quaint little spot. Would be great for visitors off of I-44/Rogers Turnpike since the rest area is within walking distance and theres a fence that joins from the rest area's parking lot to the front of the Tribal Center's building. The center had a wonderful display teaching the tribal history of pottery. There were hands on activities, posters with fun facts, complimentary recipe cards, and few short clips of videos to watch. I enjoyed my visit. Only took about 30-45 minutes to view everything. There is also a little Shawnee tribal gift shop to purchase things. As stated earlier, it is a cute and quaint little spot. I would visit again when they change exhibits.

Explore the culture of the Shawnee tribe. The exhibits have been designed for all ages. Beautifully displayed. Many Interactive activities for children and adults. A great gift shop with unique and creative items. No kitschy souvenirs- take back something you'll want to keep and enjoy. New built from ground up after years of planning and hard work. Easy access from 69A. If you're driving the Route 66 mother road- it's a quick 5" side stop in Miami, OK.
