Funny, someone else had a very similar scenario. I did think the owner was nice and trustworthy (hints why I left my valuable items with him for appraisal) and upon returning he had no recognition of me whatsoever let alone leaving anything w/ him. This was a total shock to me, seeing as he was the one that specifically asked if I could give him some time to look them over. Although he said he would look around for my items, to date there is still "no trace" of them and appears they have vanished into thin air. It turns out he is also quite the ? magician, as well. So, the moral of the story is to always get something in writing, always.

I would give this guy negative stars if I could. We took a couple books of old stamps to him and he said he would need a week to look them over. We came back the following week to see his offer and he acted like(or has Dementia) he never seen us and told us he didn't have our stamps but would look for them. Which makes no sense. Still haven't received our stamps and he just plum stole them. DONT LEAVE YOUR VALUABLE ITEMS IF YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE THEM.. GUY IS A SOLID CROOK!!! THEIF!!
