Took my Jeep in with a ticking noise expecting to drop a couple grand for a repair based on what I read. Kevin knew that, took a look, but told me the noise wasn’t anything to worry about. This shop could have raked me over the coals but he was honest and ”didn’t want to do an expensive repair you didn’t need”. Dude is super chill and could talk shop with you for hours. I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing auto service, especially anything you feel needs an engine tear down. They’re honest good people, not sure why he’s got a few negative reviews, guess people only come here to complain. The diagnostic fees are reasonable and way below dealership costs. He’s just a great and honest guy overall. 10/10 would recommend.

I called about getting some cylinder heads done and was told they no longer do machine work for the public. That they only did them if they were working on a customers vehicle. May want to consider changing the name from A&R machine shop, to A&R Automotive.

This is a great place to take your vehicles to get any work done with the confidence that the work is top grade. Kevin has always been up front with everything, he will let you know in advance what needs to be done and gives you a reasonable price we have been taking our vehicles to him 8 + years and refuse to go anywhere else.Never have we had any problems. Always tell are friends and family to go with Kevin. Good guys. Thanks Kevin and Chuck. Last week Chuck came to me when I called and fixed my shifter on his lunch break, What a great crew!!

Took my 5.3L engine in to have the rotating mass rebuilt after an intake seat fell out and tore up my #4 piston. Keith was very upfront with explaining what needs to be done and recommended what I should upgrade on the block. While I got my block back in two weeks from day of drop off, I am disappointed in the lack of professionalism. I had informed Keith that I would be buying everything that was needed for a complete engine rebuild except for racer bearings, pistons, etc. Upon picking up my engine, I was handed lifter guides (which I had purchased while the engine was being worked on) and a whole engine gasket kit (which I had purchased as well). Upon explaining that I had purchased these items, Keith proceeded to complain that he wasn't going to make any money because I had purchased the parts and didn't allow him to purchase them. Fast forward to installing the engine in my truck. Everything was going great until start-up. The rear main seal started leaking after the engine warmed up. I called A&R and was told that if I brought my truck in for them to replace the rear main seal, they would have to charge me for removing the transmission to access the rear main seal. How are you going to charge me for something that your fault to begin with. After I removed the rear main seal cover myself, it was discovered that the rear main seal that was supposedly installed was not only installed backwards, but looks to be an old seal and gasket as both were very brittle and had no play what so ever. $1100 in cost for rebuilding the rotating mass, just to have a $70 problem keep me from having a leak free engine. Between the lack of professionalism with complaining straight to a customer about not making money and the blatant lack of caring about customers is absolutely ridiculous and I would not recommend anyone else using this place as it's clear all they want is your money and not your repeat business.
