Nearly 30 years ago, while in process of moving to Grove, one of my larger dogs attacked my smallest dog--after hours. Looked in Yellow pages and called Dr. Schumpert--he said to meet at his clinic. He saved my "Foxy." He is competent and compassionate. I was recently at his clinic with cat, Charlie--his assistant Kathy was so helpful as was Dr. Schumpert--I definitely recommend his clinic for treatment of beloved critters--large or small.

Came in and met a really wonderful vet tech, she helped us and took down our information and gave our dog a look and went to grab the vet. The vet walked in with a huge attitude, letting out a big sigh of regret as he looked in the room and saw an elderly dog. We explain that he has been progressively losing weight, has been vomiting, and his eyes have started bulging and he can no longer see. The vet then proceeds to do his exam. He pushes on a sensitive area I suppose, and our dog nipped him. The vet then proceeds to curse and tell us how bad of owners we are because we didn’t muzzle him or give him a warning that he was a biter!!! Mind you, we just told him our dog has lost his vision in the past two days. Our dog has NEVER bitten anyone. He is 12!!!!! And He then continued to kick us out of the office. We stated we can definitely go somewhere else if he was going to continue with that attitude. And he proceeded to scream at us to get out. All while our elderly dog is dying. To the vet tech, ma’am you were wonderful. But I would not recommend anyone with an elderly dog/ blind dog/ dog in pain to stay farrrrrrr away.

Dr. Schumpert is very knowledgeable, straightforward and helpful. The office manager Cassie deserves a raise! I’ve tried other practices around the area and happy to say this is our veterinarian.
