I was one of the kids in One Step, so I can give you a firsthand account of the place. First, to help understand the information I can give, I'm 15, so I was there 5 years ago for basically my whole life up to that point. Second, that 5 years ago means that my memory might be off, or the facility itself has changed. (Ex: the school age room wasn't space themed when I was there, but I looked at their website and now it is.) Also, I am a bit biased, considering I spent 66.66% of my life there even now, so I recommend fact checking most if not all of what I say. Another thing, I might have been oblivious to a few things, considering I was a kid. A small child will probably not listen to a discussion about how much money someone makes or the Roman Empire. The last thing before I get started, the vast majority of what I remember was from the School Age room, so I may exclude some pretty crucial details from anything younger.1. I remember the staff having a decently high turnover. You'd get a teacher for 1-2 years, and then someone new would show up. The kids would tend to get emotional when a teacher told them they were getting ready to leave.2. The food in my experience was GOOD. When you have a 6-10 year old who loves green beans, the cook is doing something right. I don't know the ratio of preprepared to cooked in-One Step, so I can't tell you what their work was, but still.3. The daycare is Christian, and it is vaguely apparent throughout the day. We prayed at lunch, for example.4. They had an outdoor recess section behind the building. It had a covered area filled with woodchips, that had things like swings and slides etc (If you search it with Google Earth, it's the green roofed area out back.) It had a one goal basketball part, some little train-looking meshes for kids to play on in the grass. I think there were also 2 houses that were also metal mesh, on either side of the edges, that, if they were ever used, it was perfect for tag back and forth between them. The biggest thing I remember were the coveted small tricycles on a little concrete track surrounding the covered pavilion. I would just ride around on it FOREVER. You did have to stay to the right, so you didn't run into anyone.5. I remember being in the School Age room and being able to bring my Nintendo 3DS and play. I think I was also able to play on my tablet. I don't remember the rules for when you could and couldn't do this, however, if there were any.6. I read the website and apparently they have buses to pick you up year-round. I was too far for them, so I was only at One Step on Christmas break or Summer break. I can't remember anything earlier than school on that either.7. During the summer, they would take School Agers on field trips every other day, and I believe the four year olds. They would stagger this, so School Age, 4, School Age, 4, School Age, 4, etc. I enjoyed basically every field trip, probably excluding those that were usually very hot, like the OKC zoo. (Again, fact check this stuff. I read that they were bought out in 2020, AFTER my time going. Everything I've said is subject to change.)8. Sometimes we would learn, sometimes we didn't. I remember days where we just played, ate, played at recess, and then played indoors. I also remember select occasions when a teacher tried to teach us some sign language or long division depending on our age within the School Age room. I don't remember either time being wildly successful for me, but I do know "giraffe" in sign language now. That's good enough. So, there's the kid's perspective on what happens at One Step. Remember to take much of my info with a grain of salt unless you verify it. I hope this has been helpful to you. Thank you for reading this.

I really liked working here but they told me I couldn't and didn't have a reason. Just not fair.

This facility is amazing for my boys. My oldest son is not the easiest with his tempers and special needs. The staff caters to his specific needs and do not categorize him with the expectations of other children at his age. He is progressing at his own pace and they are allowing him to flourish by their wonderful natures. They have cameras in each room that are monitored and have ipads they use to update daily actives and pictures to an app for parents to see. Everyone one is just wonderful and this facility makes it easier to be a working mom and have trust in the people influencing your children!! I highly recommend.

This is an excellent daycare! The staff are attentive, professional, and take great care of the children. I like that they have video monitoring in each of the rooms, a safety feature that is so important! We moved our child from one of the local “big named” daycare and I can attest the One Step at a Time is infinitely better. I highly recommend this facility, you will not be disappointed!

The staff at this facility is amazing! We have a long history with some of them and completely trust them with our kids. They get fed nutritious homemade meals (thanks Mrs Sonja!) that the kiddos love and are well taken care of in a clean, safe environment. There's no one else we'd rather send our kids!

This place is not that good. We took our 1 year old there. He was hit and bitten by other kids. He learned those habits too and started hitting and biting. The workers, with the exception of one, were always on their phones. When he woke from his nap in the afternoon, they would let him watch Trolls the movie everyday. The worst thing, however, was that one of the workers in the one-year old room would constantly saturate the air with air freshener and once we caught her spraying those chemicals on the children and on their food. I was also upset that they moved my son too quickly from the one year old room to the two year old room. He was unprepared and the staff did not help him. Kids in that room took all his toys and started hitting him in the head. He learned to retaliate by biting. We took him out and put him a home daycare and he has excelled with quality care.

We love One Step! Our son started in the infant room and moved along to each class. Everyone employed here cares about the children! My favorite item to share is that no matter my son's age, every teacher in any class knows his name! That is value, caring, and dedication to service! Thank you to everyone at One Step, we will continue to recommend you to all!

One Step at a Time Child Care is a family owned and operated center based on Christian values. The center is extremely clean and well run. They truly care about both the physical and emotional wellbeing of your children. They have security cameras in each room and they offer lots of different activities to help build young minds.

Your kids are your pride and joy. You do everything you can to protect and teach them in their younger years. If you are going to be a daycare facility, you should be following and doing the same. This is YOUR facility and children is what keeps YOUR FACILITY open and operational.Unfort. Reviews like the one your have turns parents away, immediately. But, some too dont care. We do care, so, with that being said: NO WE WILL NOT BE USING YOUR FACILITY. GOOD LUCK FOR THE FUTURE.

My son has been attending this daycare for 2 1/2 years since he was 11 months old. Honestly, this place is better than most daycares. It is clean and pretty organized and priced just a little above average. However, I have had many problems over the years. 1 is high staff turnover. Some of the teachers have been there a long time and others I never even learn their names before they are gone. 2 Many times my son came home with diapers/pullups on backwards and his shoes on the wrong feet. 3 If you as a parent don't follow their rules- bring extra clothes, only pull ups with velcro allowed, no breakfast after 8:30 etc then they get all strict with you sometimes they act aloof like you are not a good parent or they just might send your kid home in nothing but a pullup if you forgot extra clothes. But if your kids runs out the front door into the parking lot while you wait on the teacher to finish lecturing you about what kind of pullups to bring that doesn't seem to be a problem for them.4 My son is still not potty-trained at 3 1/2 years old. Also it seems several of the other kids there are also not potty-trained by this age. I know this is mostly my responsibility, but it seems I have more luck with him at home and unfortunately he spends more time there than he does at home. 5 I have also gotten the feeling that they don't particularly like my son because he is kind of difficult and not very sociable at school. I just don't understand any person that can dislike a child. Cory is pretty great. You can tell he really cares for the kids. But he isn't the one really in charge and he isn't a teacher in any of the classes. 6 My kid has learned lots of Spanish to my amazement and can count pretty well, but it doesn't seem like he is really learning letters and sounds and sight words-the reading basics. 7 Everytime I drop off my son in the morning, 1 or more of the kids are crying for their mom. I can understand this in the baby rooms, but in the 3 year old class, I think it says a lot about the fact the kids aren't enjoying being there. 8 breakfast in the mornings is weird. one day they will serve vienna sausages and crackers and the next day it is dry froot loops. Recently they had oatmeal and yogurt and that was cool, but I haven't seen that oo many times since. Overall there are some caring staff there, but I have gotten the feeling they are more interested in chastising parents for not following their rules than caring for the kids. This daycare is a lot better than other daycares out there, but I wouldn't rank it as top-notch. If you are looking for top of the line caring staff and good strong curriculum you might keep looking.
