They can rebuild your starter/alternator for (usually) a better price than buying a new one from the parts store. They get it done in a timely manner. Good customer service.

Cheaper than everyone else but also good quality with a one year warranty! My alternator went out and he had one in stock. He just had to change out the voltage regulator and I was good to go. 30 minutes later I had a driveable vehicle again.

Decades ago shops like these were your only reasonable option to get your parts without having to pay enormous OEM over inflated prices. Now with the flood of cheap chinese import parts its getting harder and harder to find places like this. Durant is lucky to have one right here in town. I've used Start Rite for an oddball alternator off an old volvo station wagon, not an easy or cheap part to replace but they rebuilt my old one and did it for a very competitive price. Most recently they rebuilt an old tilt motor off an early 80's OMC stringer inboard and charged a great amount for that as well.They wont always be the cheapest compared to chinese parts from the internet or autozone and O'Reilly's but they do quality work. You get to have a conversation about your parts with someone that speaks your language and lives in and supports your local community. If you have an electrical component that might be capable of being rebuilt instead of replaced, give these guys a call and support a local small business.
