I've gone to many different postal services in Los Angeles county and this is the best one I've gone through so far. Unlike other postal services (such as the one in FairFax, Washington blvd and Rosemead), the service won't put you down, scoff at you or treat you like a little kid. They also have better customer service skills without much of the PMS and morning tantrums and if the line is very long, an assistant will come out to assist you in order to make the line move faster. Seriously it's tough to find a perfect postal services. But I will say this one is the one I'm satisfied with and prefer to go for my shipping, mailing and passport renewal inquiries.

One cold winter afternoon, I found myself at the Davenport post office, grappling with a package that seemed determined to test my patience. The lines were long, and frustration was building up as I juggled the box, my phone, and the various forms I needed to fill out.As luck would have it, Michelle, "the red-haired postmaster," was there that day. I approached the counter, feeling a bit frazzled, and explained my situation. With a warm smile, she took the package from my hands and assured me that she would take care of everything. Her calm demeanor instantly put me at ease. She carefully examined the package, checking the address and the forms. It was as if she had a sixth sense for details, spotting a mistake I hadn't even noticed. She patiently explained the corrections needed and guided me through the process step by step. Her attention to detail was astounding, ensuring that everything was in perfect order. While we worked together, Michelle shared a funny anecdote about a similar package mix-up that had happened to her years ago. Her story not only lightened the mood but also made me feel like I was talking to a friend rather than a postmaster. With her guidance, the package was correctly addressed, labeled, and ready to be sent on its journey. I thanked Michelle profusely for her exceptional assistance and remarked on her amazing customer service skills. She simply smiled and said, "It's all part of the job – making someone's day a little brighter."As I walked out of the post office that day, I couldn't help but feel grateful for Michelle's kindness and expertise. Her willingness to go the extra mile and her genuine friendliness turned what could have been a stressful ordeal into a heartwarming interaction that I'll always remember.

Had a package "Returned to Sender" never even made it to my apartment. It was missing "Apartment Number" - I was never even notified.

This review is for passport services only.Scheduled an online appointment for 12:15pm. First available appointment was about 2 weeks from the date I scheduled.Found free street parking on one side of the post office. There were also metered parking spots around the building. Parking was not an issue.Arrived at noon and was the only person in line where a sign said to wait for passport services. Was allowed inside the office at about 12:20-12:25 and was done with the entire process for two passports in 15 minutes or so. Very smooth experience. Once inside the large office there is plenty of comfortable seating. The employee that processed our paperwork was fast and efficient. Was told the passports would be processed within 15 weeks or so.I recommend this post office for processing a passport application.

Avoid for passport services. My family applied for passport renewals and these guys screwed up one of the applications. It was an administrative oversight. We had waited months for the appointment and had to cancel our family trip. If this happens to you, realize there is nothing you can do other than reschedule another appointment months later. There is no possibility of escalation and no accountability whatsoever. If your travel plans are important I would recommend going with another post office.

I came to this location to get FBI fingerprinting done. I was told I can walk-in to do it anytime at the passport department. Well, there is a locked door and I just had to wait outside it (with some other people who were there for passports) until an employee came out to let us in. I was standing there for 25 minutes just waiting for someone to come out. Once I got into the next room, I waited about 10 more minutes and then finally got them done. The good thing was that I got the results in a matter of minutes! Oh and there is no parking lot that I'm aware of so just street parking- be careful if you park by a meter because you don't know how long you'll be waiting.

This review is for their passport department. I made an appointment for a Saturday and was actually able to be seen 30 mins before my time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I was done with 1 adult and 3 kid's applications, with photos, in 30mins. They take photos there for an additional fee. The only people that were unhappy in line were the ones that did not have all their documents and had to leave and come back. Having everything printed and photocopied before you go definitely shortens your wait time. Also, this building is just beautiful.

I have my appointment for my passport at 10.45am, it's 11.44am and I'm still here. There's not respect for people and their time. The supervisor came out only once to tell us they'll be calling us soon. Nothing yet.

Went there today to do an international shipment. The Asian lady at the window (don't know her name) had an attitude that let's just say was less than acceptable. I don't do this everyday and obviously I don't know the process. Instead of just telling me what I should do, she talked to me like I'm the dumbest person she's ever met. This is ridiculous. Hire better people, USPS.

I rate this above most post offices for two reasons:1. It's open much later than other branches. It's not super close to me, but it's open until 6:00pm so I occasionally end up here when I couldn't get out of the office in time to hit my local branch before 5:00pm2. It's a beautiful historic building. There are frequently long lines here (but they usually move fairly well) but at least you feel like you're in the 1940's!It's still USPS, so take that as 4 stars FOR A POST OFFICE.

The worst customer service. If I could, I wouldn't even provide a rating. The employees especially this one middle aged, Asian lady was Extremely rude and unprofessional. I went to her, and she asked for my documents right away without even greeting me. Then when I provided everything she asked for, because of one document that was missing, she made me reschedule an appointment that I have to wait another month for. She was very unhelpful and aggressive, and her bad attitude completely ruined my entire day.

Only one customer service person during lunch hours! Those waiting were numerous! This post office didn't care at all! Says a lot about federal agencies now!
