In 1926, with the designation of Second Street as U.S. Route 66, businesses that catered to the traveling public, such as gas stations, diners, and tourist camps, replaced private residences. In the fall of 1930, Phillips Petroleum Company purchased a property near downtown Tulsa at the corner of Sixth and Elgin Streets and replaced a two-story home with a gas station in 1931.”
“Clean, nice set up, restrooms are clean and large space, hot food available or go to BBQ place or McD's and there is lots of parking, fountain soda to coffee to slushies to drink, gas pumps are filthy but otherwise great spot for cheaper gas in Chandler.”
“Best stopping place if you're driving through from Oklahoma City to Tulsa. Restrooms are always super clean every single time I've used them. They've made a little Park type area for you to stretch your legs and your dog's legs if they're along on the trip as well.”
