I can't get a hold of anyone there and this is very important. So I'm on here. I just received some cheese expired 09/24/23 in my doordash order from dollar general on Houston near elm. This is the second time in the past couple months that I've gotten an expired dairy product. I've contacted doordash, but I can't get a hold of anyone at dollar general. I had taken a bite before realizing that it was expired, and can't get the nasty taste out of my mouth it's so bad. This is absolutely unacceptable!!!

I give this disaster of a store a 3 based on the employees who manage to still be polite and efficient even though they are HUGELY understaffed ALWAYS . I've never seen such a disgraceful Dollar General. The store is always a mess due to the understaffing so the isles are always crowded with product that can't get put away because there are customers to take care of. I use to shop at DG all the time ( 209th and 41st area) bought decorations, birthday stuff, food, etc but since you can't use a cart at the W. Houston Street store ( Elm and W. Houston) I only go in if I need an item or two. If the owner doesn't care about the store than I don't care to shop there.

About what you'd expect from a dollar store. It's clean, the employees are helpful, and you generally can find what you're looking for in the dollar-and-slightly-above category.

Seen those dollar general go through alot the 10 years I've lived across the street. Really like the current staff. Cool and work hard considering they get alot of shady people coming in there.

Today was my very first time visiting this DG & I did not make a purchase. I couldn't believe how filthy some of the eyeglass packaging was (someone had even dragged their finger through the dust & it still wasn't cleaned since that even) & the amount of boxes everywhere. I initially thought they just had a truck today, but by the other comments, I guess the boxes everywhere is typical. It was uncomfortable trying to walk down any aisle. The DG I used to live by (41st & 209th) was one of the most cleanest stores. The system crashed multiple times to where everyone needed cash..however this was reoccurring as I heard a boy whisper that it happened last night as well.Dollar General Corporation: You probably needs to close this location as they seemingly are losing money rather than making money. The machines don't work & somehow they can't clean or put away products. I could see a manager off to the side, but they couldn't be bothered to help the one lady at the front when the line started backing up. I don't care if they try to backpedal & say they help each other. What I witnessed wasn't team work.

literally needs 0 stars. does anyone work here? i waited upfront for 5+ minutes, rang the bell, no one came. So frustrating. This also is an almost every time occurrence when we go. Don't waste your time. go the extra mile to walmart.

I always go into this Dollar General, and Mrs. Shaw is the sweetest lady that you will ever meet. She is very kind, respectful, and Always helps me with whatever I need, when I'm in the store. She is often the only one working in the store, and running everything on day shift, and In my opinion she needs a raise. I absolutely Love Mrs. Shaw and it's an absolute pleasure being able to see her when I go shopping. She's a Joy to speak with. She will absolutely brighten up your day. ❤️❤️❤️❤️????????
