Sticker Shock, seven dollars for cereal. You can get it for a little over five elsewhere and five dollars in bulk. Also don't they add more at the cash register too?

Seamless experience. In & out quickly. First time there, I was surprised by the amount & variety of items. They carry name & store brands. Pretty solid grocery store.

What the heck. Be AWARE that their prices are listed as 10% less than they really are. They have average prices that they state are their "cost" (impossible bc other big stores sell some stuff for less than the listed prices here) and then ADD 10%. Why not just list the honest cost to the customer on everything. I seriously want to know. They have an okay selection and actually have some fun stuff you can't find other places (such as lemon-lime Koolaid). The overall vibe is run down and dirty. Definately will not return.

This store could be great and have a lot more business! HOWEVER THEIR PRICES ARE CRAZY HIGH! Their Oceanspray cranberry juice is $1.50 higher for the large bottle and over $1.30 higher for the small bottle than where I regularly shop. I drove all the way to Walmart to get it instead of buying it here, I'm simply not going to support anything like this. The store is empty for this reason. I feel sorry for the employees. You can get a card to get a lower price! Why not just offer the lower price to all who enter the store? It's their fault they don't have a lot of customers.

I keep coming here, I'm not sure why. There is the fact that it is just a major intersection away from my house, and that for every $50 I spend in groceries I get .05 cents off my gas, and their gas is averagely priced to begin with. But after that, I'm just not sure why I keep coming. I finally broke down and wrote this review because I bought a gallon of milk on the 26th of November. When I went to make breakfast on the 8th, it was bad. Looking up the shelf life, milk should last 5 or more days PAST the expiration date on the bottle. The expiration was the 9th. I haven't had a chance to talk to the manager regarding this problem, but if the results are satisfactory, I think I'll change the stars to a 3 for handling a problem well. If they don't, a 2 it shall stay. In addition to the bad milk, I bought an onion last night that looked like the best of the bunch. Once home and cooking with it just under an hour later, I found a huge bruise right under the outer shell. And it was slightly green on the inside! The entire banana section which was on sale for .50 cents a pound had at least a little green on each bunch. They also had a promotion on a few items that gave an additional .10 cents off your gas: $6.99 for a large thing of pizza rolls and 2 for $4 Ultimate Hamburger Helper are just a couple. It looked like they were trying to get rid of excess stock. I am an avid reward finder. One thing that irks me is when grocery stores mark their registers as "merchandise" rather than "grocery". I don't get my 2% cash back if they don't have their registers marked correctly! It's a little annoying that I'm not getting my full rewards for shopping there. (Will also be bringing this up during the aforementioned call, and speaking with my credit card company.) The manager I spoke with in person regarding the credit card rewards issue really didn't seem to have any customer service skills. I don't really understand why he was standing there rather than having an able bodied 16 year-old checking folks out, but he was standing in as a cashier. As I tried to explain the issue, he just stood there and looked at me dumbly. He finally decided to just pass me on to his manager. I had to prompt him to give me a phone number because he continued to just stand there while there were several customers waiting to be checked out. The customer service is hit and miss. Some days the service is great; they are open to customers asking them where items are and making conversation at check out. Other days they leave the aisle as they see you coming and grunt at you while you stand there awkwardly watching your items ring up. The store is pretty big, if you include the large pharmacy/household product section (which I never shop in) and averagely clean. There is quite a bit of selection on most products and they send out their sales ad through the mail to arrive every Wednesday. My final, and largest, pet peeve about this place is that the directory hanging lamely in the middle of the store is all messed up. Not only do they not have the aisles accurately marked with the correct information, but the numbers are all mismatched like they came from different sets of numbers/letters. It gets me every time.

I have no idea why I ever go to this Homeland. They never have enough checkers and I can never find what I'm looking for.
