I was initially nervous about going from a lighter brown, blonde ish color, to a very dark brown, especially since it was a last minute decision and I was a walk-in. However, Annie and Heather I’m not for sure, but who I believe was assisting her, made my experience amazing. They were both incredibly sweet and eased my fears. I had even cried before walking in, uncertain about whether I was making the right choice. But Annie ensured that my first time at the salon was wonderful, and I absolutely do not regret it. My hair turned out to be absolutely beautiful. I’m so happy, I love it!❤️

Disappointing experience… I was really hoping this would be my go to salon for all my beauty needs, they seem to be disorganized and unreliable. My low review isn’t due to the quality of the services it’s to do with the customer experience. Out of the 6 appointments between hair colorings, lashes and brows, I’ve made with them only 2 were fulfilled which both were the same day.
The first time I scheduled an appointment here and had my roots touched up the stylist did a good job toning the blonde to the shade I wanted. She was really personable too and I was excited being new to town and finding a new salon to go to.
I had scheduled to get my lashes done the same day however the stylist text me the night before and informed me they were having supply issues which I was understanding of. We rescheduled the lashes for a few days later. The morning of my new lash appointment the stylist messaged me and canceled the appointment due to personal reasons. I was understanding and told her I would schedule something in weeks time. I messaged the stylist a few weeks later asking if they had lashes in. I was going to get my roots retouched as well and was going to see about getting lashes done. She never replied however I scheduled the hair appointment with her over 2 weeks in advance. And 30mins BEFORE my scheduled appointment she text me informing me she was overwhelmed with her work load and had a hair coloring at 12:30 and she wouldn’t be able to take my 1P appointment that I had scheduled weeks prior. I was understanding with her even though I was already in my car almost there and had to reschedule my babysitter.
The stylist reassured me she would make it right and get me in a couple days later. As I had two weddings to attend and needed to get my hair done before. The morning of the rescheduled appointment she text me informing me she had another family emergency and would have to cancel my appointment. I had to once again cancel my babysitter. I respectfully told her I would have to look into another salon at this point as 4 cancellations was too much unreliability. Especially since I had weddings to attend and she wouldn’t be able to reschedule it in time for the first one. I won’t leave the stylists’ name out of respect because I understand things happen however 4times is too much for reliability of a business.
My advice to the owner would be to crack down on their employees attendance because the one time my appointment wasnt canceled the stylists were all running around picking up a stylist’s appointments who had called out. It seems like the culture there. Hopefully they can get on track! I would be hesitate to book here as a consumer.

I had originally asked for a balayage and the stylist (who was very friendly and personable) told me I wouldn't need one just a root blend with low lights and highlights. So I got low lights and high lights with a root blend. I'm not sure what happened but by the time I was done there was zero dimension in my hair, no real highlights or distinction of color. Possibly the worst part is my roots weren't even remotely blended it literally looks like I put a sandy blonde box dye over roots. So I have an inch of dark roots with no gradual blend or any blend.
When she asked me what I thought I told her honestly that I hated it. I do. I paid 120$ for something I could've done with a box of color for 10$.
I am then asked why I hate it (not the nice stylist, the owner I think? Didn't introduce herself). I said it doesn't remotely look like the image I was aspiring towards. I was then told my roots aren't dark enough and my hair won't get that blonde this time that I would need to make an additional appointment. Contradictory statement but ok.
I am then asked how I want it styled like that's going to somehow fix the color.
I reply that I don't at this point, I don't want it styled I just want to leave. So I am then told I need to pay anyway. I said that's okay but I want to leave I don't care if it's not styled. Then again I'm asked about the style finally I respond with I'm going to the gym after this, it's going to get wet I literally don't care. I didn't go to get my hair styled I went to get it dyed the style was just a bonus.
Why ask me how I like it if you're going to be combative about how I feel about MY hair.
The stylist was again nice and personable but my experience was absolutely miserable, and if you cannot do something please just communicate with your customer prior to attempting to do it.

Absolutely love the atmosphere of this place. Such wonderful girls to be around. They don't disappoint! I have been going here for almost a year seeing Teisha and found the salon I will continue to go to! I highly recommend!!!

The atmosphere and employees are so welcoming. Teisha gave me my first ever hair cut as a kid and I’ve been with her ever since! The Design Studio is my go to salon and I can’t say enough good things about it — From kids haircuts, to prom updos, to nails, (and so much more) The Design Studio has it all!

I have been taking my son here for years and it is a very clean, professional and well ran establishment that offers professional salon services, haircuts and so much more. I always feel welcome and the owner is very good at what she does. I recommend this salon 10/10 you wouldn’t believe how many times we been in a pinch last minute and the owner still fits you into her busy schedule and remains professional and punctual. I have never had a bad experience since we started going to the Design Studio. Best salon in Zanesville, Ohio!

Love the design studio! Trisha is so sweet and always does amazing with my hair and is so good with my 2yr old son and cutting his hair! Heather is also amazing and sweet and does great with my nails! All the girls are always really nice there and my mom and I always have a great experience! If we are unsatisfied with something they are always willing to help make it right! Promise you will not be disappointed!!

I was extremely excited to try a new hair salon and I had really wanted some layers. I told the stylist that I had wanted my bangs and hair trimmed and some not too short layers. I ended up with a single layer cut into my hair and my curtain bangs were not evenly trimmed. They were two different thicknesses and two completely different lengths. I was very disappointed. I have had so much trouble with styling them and getting them to look even, but they have never looked the same ever since. The stylist was very nice but unfortunately she was not very experienced.
