Just moved to the area and needing a few furniture items on a budget. I was seriously appaled at the prices here. A cheap little particle board storage shelf with scratches and dents all over, $50. WHAT?!? A beat up old out of date dresser, $300?? This is a thrift shop? I WON'T be back.

I recently had a very disappointing experience at this thrift store, a location I used to frequent. The inventory mainly consists of outdated and undesirable items, along with mismatched pieces such as random lids and low-quality plastic decorations, likely from dollar stores. The pricing is unreasonably high given the quality, with items marked at rates far exceeding their worth and no willingness to negotiate. Overall, this store does not offer good value for money and is not worth visiting.

Trash. Unfortunately this whole store is trash. Unorganized, half the stuff isn't priced and they just wing it and it is WAY WAY overpriced. I dont know who is pricing things, but your a thrift store selling donated items, half of them broken or in poor condition. Staff is very nice except one lady, might be a manager, has glasses, she's 1000% the rudest human I've met in a long time. Treat your staff better lady.

Bump the ratings up
For this store. Staff is friendly store is well organized. Prices can be high but if you are savvy you can go on deal days and really dig deep. Books are plentiful and are not overly stickered.

Staff is hardworking and does a great job. They are the reason for any stars at all.
Otherwise, Salvation Army continues their reign of pricing terror. The prices are ridiculous.
Tiny no name ceramic that appears to have been free with a floral delivery is $19.99 why?
The used throw pillow for $7.99 when most thrifts price them at $2. ?
Used bed pillows were $9.99-$14.99 ?
"Donations not accepted" sign is out again because the place is stuffed full like a rummage sale. Probably due to these prices.

Good (thrift store) selection of clothes & they have fitting rooms, unlike the Goodwill locations in the area. Items are grouped by garment type and color, not size, so you're gonna have to hunt. Picked up a like-new pair of Polo jeans for $13! Check your prospective clothing purchases carefully, as there were several items on the racks damaged to the point that they shouldn't have been there. Who would buy a $6 pair of jeans with a three inch tear in the crotch? Also, all sales are final.

Wow! I used to love going to Salvation Army years ago down in Florida. Used to be able to get clothes and shoes for a song - enjoyed helping out a good cause. This store in Boardman is selling some things at nearly retail. For another $5 I can get it new and in some cases they had new donations selling them for even more than I can buy it on Amazon. I come to a thrift store to get a good deal.. this store is off my thrift store list .. it's not Thrift if it's buying retail from a dirty disorganized store. No thanks.. sorry - I'll make a monetary donation to Salvation Army. Give people a break.. if you're a thrift store then sell at thrift store prices. Going back to goodwill.

Overpriced!! Cant say it enough, absolutely ridiculous! The workers were courteous and helpful but I think even they are aware that the prices are absurd. Whoever sets the prices needs to stop using eBay ad a pricing guide! I thought the whole idea of a thrift store(especially a religious organization!) is to help low/fixed income people, this store is a real disappointment. One star rating is to generous truth be told. If you want a bargain be prepared to really hunt! It’s January of 2024 and I hadn’t been here in awhile so I took a chance. It was even worse than before! How are you helping anyone with these crazy prices? A lot of people count on thrift shops and this one is a sad disappointment. Should be ashamed to pretend to help people. I would do better shopping at Walmart

The manager over prices everything, they charge the same amount for used stuff you can go get brand new for the same price. Come back down to reality.

I do love shopping here, but I have a small complaint. They have the new items that still need to be tagged and priced next too, and sometimes right in with the merchandise on the left side of the store. I have gotten yelled at for perusing a rack of clothes because it wasn't ready yet, but it was right next to other clothing racks. And this last time my daughter found a night stand she loved next to where the curtains are. This is far away from the back door. I couldn't find a price so I asked one of the workers where I could find the tag. She wasn't very nice when she told me that it was a new item that isn't ready to be sold. I said thanks, but couldn't understand why I was treated like I was being irritating when I wanted to buy an item that was on the sales floor.

I come in and there’s a whole ton of zara stuff stained, broken zippers ect. I think to my self wow this has to be cheaper than tj max no! Zara is 60% off the original price! So you are telling me for a broken zipper dress you’re going to charge $20… no thanks! Salvation Army what have you been doing? I hope people see this and know that tj max is more than 60% off and nothing is stained or broken and Plato’s Closet is more than that! Do NOT GO HERE FOR ZARA!

Terrible. This company is just GREEDY. They get these items in for FREE, donated. I found a sweater for 5$ that had a massive stain in the middle of it. Lots of items from the dollar tree marked up to 3$ even, original tags were left on. I went over to look at their jacket and a homeless person or someone In need couldnt even afford it. The jackets were 12$ and up some as high as 50$! With stains. Again they get these items for free. This company is dissapointing anymore and I won't be purchasing from here ever again. Even if something is vintage, it was DONATED for free. 50$ is unjustifiable for a company who is supposed to "help" people. I understand they must pay to keep their buisness open, but that doesn't change that these prices are outrageous.

I visit every so often to see if I can land anything good, but with the prices being so high I can't ever bring myself to purchase anything.
You have space, but you don't sell anything because no one is willing to pay $10 for someone's 2011 vacation shirt that you got for free. No wonder the donations are constantly closed and that back half of the store is so cluttered and impossible to avoid.
I would not be surprised if this place shuts down within the next year. Go to Goodwill instead and save your cash.

Customer service lacks immensely in this facility. Attitudes from every single employee is absolutely uncalled for to myself and my children! I will def not be back, left a terrible impression on me. Coorperate really needs to consider an overhaul of management and who they allow to to be hired here ouch. This is not the first bad experience I’ve had here but by far is the worst since opening back up from covid.
