Never had a problem at the Boardman location until today, 5/28/24. I walked in all bubbly and happy, I realized I had the wrong yoga mat and wanted to exchange for a different one, I was even having funny conversations with the people in line. Until I was abruptly presented with a very disgruntled employee. Right off the bat, she was short with me and unfriendly. I tried to be nice and she ignored me instead, insisting if I had a receipt, i respond it will be on my scorecard. I purchased last week. She replies, well you purchased a lot last week, I don’t know which one it is, I said ok, let me bring it up on my phone and I’ll find it, unless I’d be better helped with someone else. She then blows up, you can go to someone else if you want to. She begins to get irate trying to turn the computer screen so I can see my own purchases, I reply, I can see them on my phone and feel you’re being very disrespectful and rude to me. I said please don’t treat me like that, you’re being very abrupt. She began to try to argue with me. I shut it down. I bring up the purchase within that same minute on my phone. She asks where is it? I show her my phone, I said, do you see the gray area right here? That is the yoga mat, that is the picture of it underneath the numbers. I walked in the line of fire with her. She even tried to get the other young employees to laugh and smile at me. It was a uncomfortable feeling to walk into a store and be treated like that. Please don’t put your own pain on innocent customers, that are trying to return a simple yoga mat and who don’t deserve a bad day feeling from someone they did nothing to deserve it. If you’re unhappy, please make a change in your life. Don’t take it out on someone else. REI is a better option for me anyhow ??

I placed a mobile order for a pair of tennis shoes. I open the box at home and the shoes are dirty and creased. I call the next day, I spoke to footwear the rep was not listening to me, I had to repeatedly ask if they had another pair in my size. He finally looks and says there’s one left, and I said can you please hold it for me until I get there. I arrived an hour after the call and after I finally get someone to help me no surprise they don’t have it in the back or at the front register. A complete waste of time and money. This is mediocrity at its best, you should be embarrassed.

They used to have a wonderful fishing department many years ago. Now their fishing department has very little selection overall and what they do have is often out of stock. I rarely go here anymore

Called the store ahead of time to have a specific Nike shirt put on hold. Rep said she was putting me on hold, ending up transferring me to apparel dept, apparel dept answered, transferred me AGAIN, said they were checking in the back for the shirt. Came back on the line after waiting on hold. One of the girl associates came back on the line, said yes we have this specific shirt what’s your name? Gave my name and came to the store to pick it up. Went to the register told them my shirt was on hold, the cashier went to retrieve it from the hold bin ( was not in there). Paved the associate in the back and asked if they ever brought the shirt up front to be held the associate replied we thought it was leggings and a shirt. ( I never put leggings on hold, just the shirt). Let the associate know we are bringing the shirt up now. Then… cashier asks what’s the upc to associate. Cashier looks it up and goes we actually don’t have that shirt, it doesn’t exist here. The one in Niles has it. Which is 40 minutes away. Then the assistant manager or some supervisor comes up and offers a gift card and apology. I won’t be back after being lied to. Worst experience ever. The only reason I post this to make other customers aware so the same thing doesn’t happen to them.

Poor selection for taller people. Tired of not being able to try shoes on when every else has their size in stock. It’s 2023 and tbh not acceptable anymore. I’m not the only guy walking around with size 14 or bigger. Socks too. Tall sized gear and workout clothes. I’d even buy my work boots there but you don’t ever have my size. I thought y’all catered to athletic types/builds?
