Very accommodating, genuine love for animals. We took our puppy home after meet and greet. Caused staff to stay after hours. We are most thankful! You know him as Cheddar, we renamed him Magoo.

This place is amazing. The workers all have such huge hearts for all the animals. They go above and beyond for the pets and their families.

If I could give them six stars I would! The staff is extremely friendly and professional! I found my new little buddy there and we will enhance each other's lives greatly!

About Wayne County Dog Shelter
The Wayne County Dog Shelter is located on Burbank Road in Wooster, Ohio. The Dog Shelter is responsible for taking in all of the stray dogs in Wayne County. They also take in Owner Released Dogs as space allows. The Dog Shelter operates a Pet Supply Pantry for those in Wayne County that are on assistance programs. They also offer educational opportunities for schools, 4h groups, and scouts. The Dog Shelter accepts volunteers that have gone through an orientation process. Those volunteers are then able to participate in the Dogs Day Out Program as well as a Holiday Sleepover Program. The Wayne County Dog Shelter has a 99% positive placement rate and is able to provide extensive medical care to their dogs through their Medical Fund.
