Crosspaws does wonderful work caring and rehoming lost, surrendered or abandoned dogs ?, cats ? in a very clean and healthy environment. I discovered Crossoaws a year and half ago and was pleasantly suprised how well the care that is given to the animals a bright spot in the foot hills of Woodsfield Ohio.

Two months ago we visited Crossed Paws Animal Shelter to see a dog we found on Petfinder. We met with Shelly. Upon entering the facility we were so impressed with the cleanliness of the facility. We looked at the dogs in their runs. All the runs were very clean. We met the dog we were most interested in. Left to go on our week vacation. Came back to pick up Dolly (now Holly). I want to say Shelly was very flexible in meeting with us both times. She was also very generous and helpful. We would definitely recommend this animal shelter.

We just adopted a beagle from this shelter. We were very impressed how nice of a shelter it was. Would definitely recommend Crossed Paws to anyone looking for a forever friend.

The Shelter was definitely clean and animals seemed well cared for. I helped an Adopter with adopting a Beautiful cat. (Jinx). After a trip to my Vet, it was found he was badly Diabetic. And the Adopter made the decision to return him to Crossed Paws. It broke her heart. Returning Jinx, I was told "they knew something was wrong with him but just didn't know what". They adopted him out anyway. The Adopter returned Jinx with a $50.00 bag of special food. Checking on Jinx, Crossed Paws said they also found he had liver and pancreas problems. Just a sick kitty. They made the best decision for him and had him put to sleep. Crossed Paws asked for the name and address of the Adopter. And said they would Return her Adoption Fee. What happened wasn't her fault. And she would maybe want to adopt again. The Adoption Fee was never returned. I feel Crossed Paws is doing a good work. But shouldn't have adopted out a cat they felt was not healthy. Especially with saying nothing about it...and should not have said they would return the Adoption Fee. Then not do it. This was not the Adopter's fault. And she also had the additional expense of the Vet visit and testing to find out Jinx was sick. The Adopter made a decision to not adopt again from Crossed Paws. Because of the condition of the cat...and her Adoption Fee not returned could have been used toward a new Adoption.
