So friendly, so reasonably priced! They saved me SO much in taxes! I'll definitely be going back next year. Thank you!

Find another financial service. My current accountant was closing her practice so she transferred my account to ZFS. I assumed that she was passing me to a company that would provide the same level of service that she did...NOPE. From the first tax year up to now, they have been the worst! Emails don't get any responses. I have sent email after email to check on the status of my taxes and provide business info that is need to do the taxes. No response. I call, leave messages, phone calls never get returned. Oh, but when it is time to pay the bill they are 'Johnny on the spot' with calling you to get paid. But if you have any questions the answers are short and they can't get you off the phone fast enough. This past tax year I requested a meeting to go over everything since they 'lost' the first set of documents I sent them and then when they completed my taxes they used figures from the documents that were supposedly 'lost'. When I expressed that because of the non-responsiveness and lack of communication I would be taking my business to another firm, the response was 'Fine. I'm busy enough as it is.' Really?!! That's what you say to a paying customer?! On top of that, this year I have 3 dependents, one of which I dropped off. Last time I checked 3-1=2. But they filed my taxes with 1 dependent instead of 2. So when I notified them of the mistake they said they would prepare an amended return. So I get a call (they always call when it's time to get paid) "Your amended return is done, that'll be $300". Seriously?! For your mistake?! "Well, that's our charge to do amended returns, goodbye". I can't believe I considered giving the another chance next year. I must have been out of my mind! I read other reviews and it's like looking in a mirror. Every time I interact with they people they to make you feel as though you are inconveniencing them and interrupting their day when they are only there because of their customers. These people know nothing of customer service or how to run a service business. They have taken what was once probably a very good firm and squandered it into a less than mediocre, subpar firm. I would look elsewhere if you are looking for a reputable, reliable, accounting service for your business or personal finances.

As the owner of a multi-state law practice I made the switch this year to Zappitelli from a prior accounting firm that kept exponentially running up my rates. I am so happy to have made the change. A lawyer is never an easy client when it comes to bookkeeping and financials, but the staff at Zappitelli has been super responsive to my inquiries and saved my family a good deal on taxes due to the firm's understanding of recent tax reforms. Annie and Diana are great! If you want competent and growth-minded accountants on your side without all the extra frills other practices ultimately pass through to their clients, go with Zappitelli! I look forward to growing and partnering with this firm in the long run, which is exactly the type of force-multiplying my office strives to provide to our own business clients.

I would recommend this tax prep service to people who have a basic W-2 all the way to more complicated tax returns. ZFS does it all! They are extremely pleasant when dealing with the daunting task of filing taxes. They are very friendly, the turnaround is fast, and they are extremely affordable! Way cheaper than H&R Block and Liberty Tax ( I have used H&R & Liberty in the past and ZFS charged me 1/3 of the price).

They made a mistake on our 1997 taxes which caused us to underpay a CA tax due, which came back to bite us all these years later with interest and penalty, as you might imagine. I went to them for assistance in figuring out what went wrong, and Robert apparently decided it would be easier, for the purpose of weaseling out, to manufacture some ridiculous umbrage at something very innocent I had said during that meeting, and so subsequently (using a mild profanity, mind you, but just briefly...repeated twice, though) told me he was offended and that he was not talking to me ever again and would communicate only through his lawyer. So meanwhile, I figure it all out myself with the help of the CA tax board (very good, by the way) and get the right forms, make an eloquent and air-tight argument on paper, and end up getting the interest and penalty dropped and then just paid the original tax...which we would have done gladly IN THE FIRST PLACE, had the incompetent Zappitelli known his way around the tax laws that he was PAID to know. It's not like it was some super out-of-the-ordinary situation; Zapitelli flat out did not realize that CA taxes on a "global" income basis (still didn't, after all those years) ...so it was ignorance of a basic fact, causing a well-paying client a headache, pure and simple, but there was a failure to even acknowledge that. You know what the weasel tactic was? He had his lawyer inform me that 7 years was the limit of accountability for any errors. What about personal accountability? What about competence? What about honesty?
