I had gone to HR Block for years to have my taxes done. I was dinged by the IRS for a $20,000 error made 3 years ago. When I brought it in there was no responsibility claimed. Evidently the only way to get them to to back their work and provide monetary support for THEIR error is to purchase their Peace of Mind coverage. This is literally the first time I heard this in the 5 years I’ve been going there! I was given help calculating the exact amount owed, but that was a struggle as my preparer made an appointment for me to come in and then NEVER SHOWED UP!My current filing was also bounced back (due to some confusion with my ex claiming my child on his return). Once this was discovered I was told that my ex was lying to me. It turned out to be a misunderstanding, but was told by my preparer that he was purposely trying to screw me without knowing a thing about him or our situation.The cherry on top is that my city taxes were also miscalculated. Fortunately, I received over $600 dollars back, but the absolute incompetence I experienced (by someone with more than 20 years experience) is enough for me to never go back to HR Block.

Every year I try to file my taxes there they say they can’t help me. So now I need to find another place to do my taxes from 2015 to current. The 100% protection does not work. I’ve been battling them for years. They will not help you. I can confirm all this.
