If you have a 20# propane tank - from your typical backyard gas grill - this is not the place to go for refills. I was told that they don't always have a "yard person" available and that they prefer you drop you tank off early in the day and pick it up later in the day or the next day.

We’ve been with BrightStar (formerly Guttman) Propane for more than 20 years. Service is always quick and pricing competitive. Thanks for taking good care of us all these years.

My furnace took a poo, so we decided to switch from all electric to propane. The tank with 25 GALLONS was in within 2 business days and tank filled completely 2 days later. The only thing holding us back is the furnace wasn't installed and we are having the gas turned on as soon as possible to check for leaks. Great service and, yes per the lease agreement, the tank lease is zero if you buy the minimum 400 gallons per year. Looking forward to purchasing new propane appliances.** 4 years later I still have no issues whatsoever with Brightstar. I called and was able to get another 250 gallons at the same rate as the initial yearly fill up. As long as you plan for an Ohio winter, there are no issues.

Usually ok, but it looks like no tank filling during covid?

Brightstar has been great. They were very supportive and informative in helping us to solve a tank and delivery issue we had for many years. Solved it in one afternoon. I recommend them whole heartedly.

I switched to Duncan Oil. after being with Brightstar for 17 years. I found myself calling every month to get a cheaper rate because everyone else was cheaper. Much cheaper at Duncan Oil and will come out at a short notice. I have a credit from three months ago from Brightstar but no one seem to call me back.

2/21/19; As an update to the post below, the GM for Brightstar did call me to explain their error and discount my most recent fill-up. In addition, they sent a technician out to the house where they discovered a slight leak in an old regulator which, they replaced. So, while I'm not happy about running out of propane, hot water, heat and the ability to cook 2x in mid-winter, I must give Brightstar credit for stepping up once they were aware of the issue. Well done.

Steer clear of this company! There has to be better companies to spend your money with. They have some of the rudest people answering there phones who lack any kind of people skills. We have dealt with this location for 20 years and since BrightStar took it over it has gone downhill. We always pre buy our propane (aprox.1500gal every year) and go on autofill so we don't have to worry about when it's time to fill. They have allowed us to run out no less than twice each year in the coldest part of the winter. What makes this situation worse is how it is handled by them. Instead of getting the issue corrected promptly and tactfully you have to listen to someone on the other end of the phone's ridiculous remarks. This holds true anytime you call with a question or issue. What really amazes me is this company is located 5 min from my home and still can't get the job done!

Treat people like the enemy instead of a customer. I've been with this company for nearly 20 years. The customer service has always been on the poor end of the scale. I stuck it out because I only had to deal with them once a year for home heating propane. However after today's stunt they tried to pull I'm gone. I received a random invoice for $113.99 (which said pay immediately or will go to collection). I called and Cindy, in her normal fashion, rudely stated that it was for tank lease fees. I kindly reminded her of our conversation 2 years ago, that my lease agreement from 1998 lists "0" tank lease fee so legally you can not charge me the fee. She the says "Well you don't buy enough in a year so we have to charge you a lease fee. You need to buy a minimum of 400 gallons". Really, she did. What am I to do with the 150 gallons I dont need? (She didnt answer this question). So since my house is energy efficient, only using 250 gallons per year, I am being penalized! Then she said "If you sign a new lease agreement we will remove the current tank fee. You won't find another company that doesn't charge extra if you buy too little". Funny, I did just that! Union Propane. 300 gallon tank, .40 cents/gal. cheaper, no minimum fill fee, no tank fee..... So I told her come get your tank. To which she replied, "We are sending you a letter that states we will be removing your tank in 30 days so you better have another source because we are picking ours up in 30 days". I said " Can you make that today? Because your's is in the way of the one that was delivered by Union Propane". That's what a customer of 20 years gets....Stay away from this company.
