A beautiful and selected menu of food

I used to go to Ikea every few months to have a quick lunch out and just look through the store for inspiration, but not so much for the food anymore. They've changed chicken recipes/suppliers twice in the last year, and the new chicken is good, but they UPCHARGE. A few months ago, my husband and I both got chicken and two sides and a drink each for $24 total. Today, I was charged $13.99 for chicken and a side plus an additional $2.49 for the third side and another few dollars for a drink for and paid $19 in total for just me to eat. It's insanity.

Good food and great concept where you can purchase the food to make at home. It tastes like something you could make at home, but it is different. I also really enjoyed the sodas that IKEA offers. They are all lower sugar. The food is all lower priced compared to other restaurants. For what it is, it is great. It’s a restaurant in IKEA, so that is the a factor when deciding the 4 stars.

I tried to buy multi-hundred dollar furniture item in store that was on the shelf, advertised as ready to be sold. It was one of the items that, for some reason, requires standing around at the kiosk and waiting for pickup, a garbage system I was dismayed to discover after not shopping there for some time. Almost a half an hour later, I am informed the item is not in stock after my wait number just disappeared from the screen.
We stood around for almost another 25mins waiting for a solution, which we weren't offered a choice in. A worker came out and started setting the item to ship. After the wait and poor service, this was fine enough... except the order never came. Ikea told us to call the shipping company. They told us to call Ikea.
I go to the store and go to the desk I was at before to ask for help with a return. They say I need to check in at another kiosk and wait around at yet another desk for help. When my turn comes up, the worker asks if I called. I say yeah, and explain getting the run around. I said I am not interested in another solution, I want a return. This worker actually had the gall to say she doesn't have the solution for me and copped and attitude before saying she was going to refer me to someone else.
I was given another number to call and still do not have my item or my money. An absolutely garbage shopping experience and custom service experience. I will not be shopping at Ikea again and if calling this number does not resolve the issue, I am going to look into how to take legal action against the company for wasting my time and obfuscating the return process to steal money. Want to prove me wrong, Ikea? Give me back my money! What kind of nonsense is it that it can't be taken care of in store? What is the point of the store?

The food was absolutely amazing. The Swedish meatballs, plant balls, mashed potatoes, lingonberry jam, French fries, and ranch were delicious. The service was great, although they do not accept cash anywhere in the restaurant or store.

Eh, food wasnt that good this time. Got chicken fingers and mashed potatoes. The chicken was soggy and the mashed potatoes were straight out of a box. And it was wayyyyy tlo expensive. If you want chicken gp down the street to bonchon korean fried chicken. Staff acted like we were idiots when we asked for mustard, which apparently is not available. Wont eat there again.

IKEA has made a point to have more vegan options and they delivered. The little cafe downstairs (next to the exit) sells veggie dogs. They are made from kale and lentils. Really great!
The restaurant upstairs has veggie balls (veggies) and plant balls (pea protein) as options. Note: I checked the ingredients to the sauces and they look vegan but check for yourself... Not all sides (mashed potatoes) are vegan.
You can also buy the veggie and plant balls in the frozen food section they have (near the exit). I've added some pics of the ingredients.

Updated: The food is clean but there rest has a mess. First, the food portion is to small, the staff take a spoon then return half of itback of it to the tray instead of the plate. Stockholm salads are always low in stock. Cupa are most of them cracked or have broken pieces. Rice was a one piece overcooked and without any taste. Service like you are asking for a favor not buying.

I think it is impossible to go to IKEA and don't visit the restaurant. Everybody knows meatballs here. Fuel up for some more IKEA shopping.
You can choose to sit by the window, there are even couches, you can take your time, relax and spend some quite time, although there are always people here.
