I hired Building Chatacter LLC to build a deck and pergola for my backyard to replace the old wooden deck. I couldn't be happier with the results! From the initial consultation to the final touches, their team exceeded my expectations.
The design process was collaborative and smooth. They they really listened and provided expert suggestions to enhance the project. What really sold me was the fact that they provided a digital rendering of the design, so I could see it. Their craftsmanship on the deck is superb, and the pergola has transformed my outdoor space into a stunning, comfortable retreat.

Everyone involved was professional. Justin kept us up on the progress and what was going on. Justin was great. He is the worker that constructed the deck. He was very meticulous about making sure the deck was built correctly. It is well built and we will enjoy it for years to come. I would definitely recommend Building Character on any projects you need.

Building Character replaced my deck 2 years ago. I was extremely pleased with the entire process from planning to the completion. This year I had them back out to construct a roof over the deck. It has transformed my house. I can hardly wait till the weather improves to sit out there and enjoy it. It was so refreshing to contract a company to perform work and they actually went above my expectations.

Building Character replaced our 30 year-old wooden deck that had several issues with a stunning new composite deck. From the design process which included a three dimensional video allowing us to visualize our new deck to the finished product, every aspect exceeded our expectations. The quality of work and the attention to details were very impressive. Our new deck is beautiful and exactly matches the initial 3D design. I would highly recommend Building Character to anyone needing a new deck.

Fantastic work!! We were looking to replace our old wood deck that was starting to rot and to add a concrete patio to our backyard. There was great communication from the beginning, transparent quote and discussions around where money could be saved. Easy process to pick out materials and colors. The crew that came out to complete the work also had great communication when issues came up. It’s been a solid 6 months since Building Character built the stunningly gorgeous deck that sits just outside my kitchen door. Our deck is so beautiful that everyone who sees it for the first time remarks not only on the beauty of the deck but also how well it is constructed. I had very specific parameters in mind for what I wanted in a deck. Of the 4 different contractors I contacted for a quote, only Building Character worked with me, instead of telling me what they thought I should have. This company build a new deck in place of our old deck and it looked good at first then we noticed boards popping up and a ton of splinters, we had them come out at least 3 times to redo other things. Now we are stuck with this poorly built deck that is spluttered in several different places and we even have a step board that is popping up. I would NOT recommend this company!!!Service: Deck construction

Building Character LLC, as the name implies, is an above quality company! We contracted them to replace two decks and add a pergola. From the start, early communication was clear and covered all expectations of design. Construction and build was done in less than 3 weeks which include several rainout days. We took pictures and asked questions everyday. The crew was professional and always answered my questions without hesitation. Cleanup and final inspection went without a hitch. Everyone at Building Character are true professionals that know there craft and I would not hesitate to hire them again. I highly recommend them, they are worth every cent spent and will not disappoint!Service: Deck construction

We met with Michael B. from this company and entered under contract to have a stamped concrete patio poured. We chose the color of the patio from a picture because Michael assured us there were no samples to be found for the contractor they outsourced to do stamped concrete. We trusted that we would get the patio color we chose and were assured several times the color would come out as in the picture. Needless to say, the patio color and stamps were completely subpar. When the owner came out to view the patio and the color he said it would need time to cure and that it was completely acceptable. The patio stamps are subpar, and in several areas it looks like someone drew in the lines with a stick, but that is not the worst part. The patio looks like it has had acid poured on it. There is no color in most of the patio. The company sent a random person to come and look to see what could be done without calling, emailing or texting us about it. My husband did not allow this unknown person on to our property. There has been no further communication since. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They do not stand behind their product.

I can’t say enough good things about this company. The owners are knowledgeable and the construction crew was amazing. They have a waitlist for a reason and it was totally worth the wait. The crew was always on time, always cleaned up after themselves, and was always respectful. We couldn't find another company that could come close to their pricing either. This crew exceeded our expectations. At the end of the day they cleaned up the construction site and always maintained a professional attitude. They were also fun to work with, they always seemed cheerful. The work itself was done with craftsmanship. Our plans were good but needed to be modified which was done with great imagination. The supervisor, Josh Capps kept the project on target and provided helpful suggestions throughout the project. He also kept the costs within budget, even with the modifications.
