STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! I gave it 1 star because I could not give him a - 10.For years, I had my taxes done by the senior Holthues (father of the present man running the business) and never had any issue. After the son took over, everything fell apart. The last draw for me was when I dropped my taxes off early in January, and he just flat didn't do them. My wife and I made numerous contacts with the office, even insisting on a short meeting with him before we were finally granted a meeting. That meeting went nowhere. In fact he was very rude to us and said if we get a late penalty he would pay it. Well, bottom line, our taxes were completed VERY late and when we went to pick them up (because we no longer trusted him to file them)...his office door was closed and the receptionist said he would not speak with us. In the end, we did get fined with a late fee. He ended up stiffing us with the late fee that HE HAD PROMISED TO PAY! We ended up paying the late fee on our tax filing that HE HAD CAUSED....and he never spoke to us again.Tax time is stressful enough, but through this one man's incompetence, we, and others like us... suffered, worried, and were stressed out unnecessarily. Do yourself a favor....stay far away from this place!

After 20 years of being a client, the office sent us a “dear client” letter to tell us they will not do any future accounting for us.For years we have praised Doug for his work, yet since the pandemic there have been some clear issues in the quality from this office. Mistakes on tax forms, lies to cover up the mistakes, followed by placing blame and not taking any accountability for mistakes made. When multiple calls and e-mails to follow up on commitments not met are needed, I guess they did us a favor by “breaking up with us”.I do not suggest this office for the lack of accountability and responsiveness to their clients by the namesake. Twenty years of business and referring people to this office results in the attached form letter. If you want to be treated like a number and not valued for your business, while be required to double check their work for costly mistakes, this is your place. If not, seek assistance elsewhere.

I've gone there for years but I think the new tax laws are beyond his ability to comprehend. My return was not done on time, he had to file an extension, he won't return calls or emails and my return was 50% less. I went to HR Block for a free second look and they found me more money.

My husband has used Doug for 20+ years, but not any longer. Today we sat in his office, and he treated us with so much disrespect we will never return. I'm not sure if we caught him on an off day, and he took his aggression out on us, but we will never return. When I asked him to take it down a notch because he was raising his voice, he abruptly got up and then started acting like a pouting child. He lost a customer of over 20 years for his theatrics tonight.
