The warrensville hts ohio store is downright nasty. The employees are unprofessional and rude. Look around the store...reverse discrimination. The Willoughby store is much better but out of the wholesale clubs, Costco is the best by far.

I got a BJ's membership a year and a half ago, just because it was convenient to my trek home when I was still working (now retired). This particular store, I should say. I ordered it (the membership) online, and that same day, as in probably an hour later, I saw a "special" on Facebook which would have saved me thirty dollars if I ordered a BJ's membership that day on that FB ad. I tried to "undo" my original and join again, or at least get the difference from BJ's actual site, which would have been about twenty five or thirty dollars. I even contacted them twice, and got crickets. LOL. Okay, not a big deal. This next point is quite important for me to emphasize; I specifically signed up for a NON RECURRING membership. I'm not a kid, I'm not stupid, and have had issues with this type of thing in the past when trying to cancel memberships or whatever after agreeing to renewing automatically (pro tip - NEVER do it with anything). Anyhow, I've been to this BJ's about four times. I found it to be adequate, and even good for having some things other stores don't stock. The staff is about what you'd expect for the area (I LIVE IN THE AREA so I am not saying this as a knock, but the interest is more on phones and talking and hopefully, you won't bother them too much with a question) so if you don't understand what I mean, you don't live in the area. The LAST time I personally went there was close to a year ago. I'm writing this in April of 2023. It was a crappy, cold and lousy day, and I wanted to stop to pick something up for dinner. The best way for me to describe it is it wasn't a horrible experience, but it was lacking. I have memberships at Costco and Sam's Club, and I always note how attentive the staff is at clearing out empty boxes in the frozen food sections and bringing the ones behind up in front. This store had mostly empty boxes still in the frozen food cases, and I had to remove them myself to get what I wanted. I also passed an area near the fresh meats that had literally, a leaking roof that had some yellow tape surrounding the wet floor with a bucket catching the water. I am NOT saying it's BJ's fault that the roof was leaking (it could have just started that day) but to have that type of thing set up within five feet of customers while the floor was wet due to overflowing water from the bucket? I had to personally warn two older women to not walk into the water. Suffice to say, I decided to let the membership go and not renew it. SURPRISE!!!!!!! LOL! Yep, guess what? They automatically renewed my membership in December even though I specifically DID NOT check the box where it stated "automatically renew". I'm getting way too long winded here. I apologize. The place is fine, and I do like it, but I'm more of a person who likes a store to be more customer "ready" and not one that looks like they aren't ready to be busy. I won't renew (I HOPE) my membership, but to be fair, this place is fine. I just prefer to not have to move my own empty boxes out of the way to get some frozen wings.

WARNING!!! PLEASE READ!!! The employees are this store are liars and thieves, management included! I ordered a TV and soundbar from BJs online yesterday. I spent over $900. I selected store pickup, for my husband to pick up after work. He gets off at 5pm. I get an email at 5:18 saying my order was picked up. I assume my husband got it. At 5:30, he calls me from the store, amd says he was told DoorDash picked up the order WTH???!!! There was NO DoorDash delivery option for my purchase, nor would I have chosen it!! After a phone call to the store and me stopping up there, I have NO resolution. The woman working in "customer service" there is downright nasty!! She accused me of lying and chewed my daughter and I out, which was unprofessional and uncalled for. I was treated like a liar and scammer by the store manager too. He insists its not possible that a store employee stole my purchase, despite all evidence pointing to that. I showed him proof that my order was set for pickup by ME or my husband, NOT DoorDash! I now am out $915! I plan to file a police report. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this store!!

I prefer BJ's over Costco because, for a wholesale club, they have slightly more variety in the items I want - usually with more manageable sizes and portions for a single person like me. This having been said, this Warrensville Heights outlet does not stock many of the items that I've seen at other area BJ's outlets, namely those in Middleburg Heights and Willoughby. For example, on my last two visits, they haven't had Wellesley Farms sparkling water, 2-liters of Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi, or Wellsley Farms Swiss Granola. As far as the granola was concerned, a friendly staffer was able to point me to a substitute - albeit a Quaker Oats alternative that was more sugary and filled with processed add-ons. Still, like other area BJ's, this outlet is a pleasure to shop because it's always eerily quiet and uncrowded. Moreover, it's the most convenient outlet for me. The one big drawback: it doesn't have an adjacent gas station like other area BJ's and Costcos.

Very clean store and friendly staff. I did not have an issue with items being out of stock, like toilet paper or paper towels. Lines were short making checkout fast. Unlike some other wholesale clubs, their items are reasonably sized. No gallon tubs of dressing or ketchup. They even have a wide variety of items.

Comparable to most wholesale clubs. I definitely prefer BJs to Costco as they have more name brands and less of the store brand. Prices on lunch meats are higher than supermarkets, a bit lower than everything else. Selection is so so. The cases of certain things are not the same size item as you'd see in a supermarket. Gatorade for example are 20 oz bottles instead of 32. Toothpaste comes in 4 or 5 packs and will run over 20 bucks. Fusion 5 razor blades 32 a pack. You have to know how to price-per-unit. The annual membership was 25 so not so bad. Some locations have gas stations. That makes it a better deal than Sam's or Costco. They don't have a hotdog stand by the checkout. Cash or credit is a bonus.

Squeaky clean and respecting social distancing. Stocks of paper products were looking like a return to normal.

I have been shopping here for about 15 years. The service is so-so, some workers are infinitely more helpful than others. Most of the senior staff is great: efficient and helpful. My family and I enjoy that the store is not as packed as Costco, it usually has what we need, and we know where everything is. BJs is good if you know what you like/want and/or enjoy finding stuff on your own (and can read signs). Once you learn the system/layout of the store, getting in and out is a breeze and largely painless. Often I make a complete run in and out in 10-20 minutes, which faster than I can often run through the grocery store. I have friends who are members at Costco and Sam's, but we keep coming back to BJs. With 3 stars , there is room for improvement, of course...
