Our mother passed away Dec. 23, 2023. I met with Richard Kamienski in the Crown Hill office on Dec. 26 to make final arrangements as my mom had prepaid everything. He told me the service would be Saturday, Dec. 30 at 10am in the chapel, to park in the lot by the pond and that we would have 20 mins in the chapel. We talked about pallbearers and I told him how many there would be plus that they couldn't do a graveside service due to weather and ground conditions. We get to the cemetery on Dec. 30, go to the chapel and no one is there. I texted our funeral director, was told the hearse was at the grave site. None of this was our funeral director's fault as he isn't affiliated with the cemetery or their funeral home. We were shocked to learn that we would not be in the chapel, there would be no service and that we could pay our final respects by walking on wet, slippery plywood in the mix of rain, snow and cold. We weren't dressed for the weather as we were to be in the chapel. There were some elderly with us that couldn't navigate the slippery conditions. We had a few minutes to say our goodbyes. It was a total disaster as our beloved Mom's dignity can't be returned as well as our pain from the loss of a proper closure. I wonder how many other families lives were turned upside down that day as there were others scheduled for the chapel, including the father of a friend. I will be selling my grave sites there as I no longer wish to be buried in a place that has no respect for families. I am still angry over our treatment and will not let this rest with them.Update 1/10/24: I would like to apologize to Crown Hill for my review as I have received additional info on our experience. I no longer blame them for anything that happened the day of my mother's funeral as my brother and I now know the truth concerning the funeral director. My anger was directed at the wrong person. Crown Hill has offered the use of their chapel if we choose to have a memorial service for Mom at a later date. That being said, I will delete my post after giving others a chance to read it.

They are very caring people our family has used them for many years. THEY have taken very good care of my loved ones in a very respectful way and the family members were made to look amazing. Thank you for caring!!!

The care, customer service and upkeep at Crown Hill is improving. When mom and I went to visit our family's graves this week, their flat stones looked well cared for and the artificial flowers we placed in May had been carefully mowed around and looked great!! In the past, the stones were sunken and underwater or had mower tire tracks across them. Even during this time, when I complained, Crown Hill addressed my concerns. I do believe they are working hard to earn our trust back.

I have witnessed the improvements given to this cemetery over the last several years and am impressed. Some things were outdated, a bit unkept and giving a generally tired impression. BUT, the grounds have been improved with new shrubbery, repaving and section markers. There seems to be a new staff in place that care about the job they do. The updates to the mausoleum are beautiful. It seems a lovely and fitting place to have a service for a loved one. Well done, Crown Hill folks. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed!

I want to say the staff were the most kind and considerate people I have ever dealt with, especially with such a difficult situation. The plots and stones are beautiful and so is the cemetery. I'm so grateful for the compassion I experienced here.

My Mom died at Xmas 2020. She had prepaid funeral arrangements for burial at Calvary cemetery, but unbeknownst to us, the marker company (prior paid) to originally supply the stone marker had gone out of business several years prior. We were devastated to learn this as now we would have to come up with hundreds of dollars more than was planned for. We started calling around to see if anyone else in the industry knew who may have possibly taken over that old marker business, hoping that someone might still honor the payment made to them years ago. When we spoke with Kim of Crown Hill Burial Park, she told us that they had taken over only the cemetery side of the prior business, but not the marker sales business. Kim was extremely sympathetic to our dilemma. Kim worked it out to provide us a granite marker from their current inventory, which they used only for those who were buried at Crown Hill Burial Park. She stayed in contact with us for over 2 months, presenting several designs and doing follow up to be sure that we were happy with the one we finally chose. Kim took great pains in design work to get it looking almost exactly like the original design my Mom had paid for years ago. She also made sure that it was blasted in time for my Mom’s spring memorial service so that the marker could be in place for graveside services done then. We are super impressed with how hard she and Crown Hill worked on this for us, especially since they had no financial incentive to do such a wonderfully kind and loving deed.Thank you to Crown Hill Burial Park / Kim and associates, for their sympathy, understanding, kindness and caring, and for the beautiful stone marker for my Mom’s grave.

This is a beautiful and peaceful memorial park! The office staff is great! They are always helpful when I call there. I am in the cemetery quite a bit for genealogical purposes and I notice the cemetery caretakers working hard on the lawns and raising/unearthing flat headstones that get partially buried. It is appreciated! Also - A few times when I was looking for a headstone (I must have looked lost, ha), the cemetery crew offered to help me. Thank you!

I have been through to visit my family the past two weekends and both times the place looks terrible. Some sections are cut, some are not. No rhyme or reason to it. Thankfully, my family’s section is one of the lucky few to be cut. I feel bad for anyone who tries to go out there on the weekends and do work around their monuments. Guess the importance of appearance for everyone is different.

Back in 2018, I lost my two sisters(most beautiful lights ever) and my brother(funniest Marine ever). The staff at Crown Hill including Kim, Barb and Jennifer were so kind, helpful and caring. Our grandparents bought the family plots back in 1930 for them along with our parents. Whenever I needed to call, the staff is exceptional at follow through to get things resolved. Our family went through a tremendous loss and I am grateful for them making a difficult situation a little easier. When I was out for a visit there on the grounds, I met Justin who does upkeep on the property and made sure to let me know the grounds staff does a great job as well.
