We met an absolute angle Sue your kindness and love of doing for the kids in the area is a true blessing to so many! Thank you and Sam for our tour and we are very excited to help as much as you need in all the years to come!”
“My grandma introduced me to The Gleaning Place a couple years ago, My first pieces purchased were 2 oriental, hand-painted ginger jar vases in deep navy background and pink fruit pattern painted over the navy.i saw them and immediately knew they belonged in my dining room. Ever since that very day, it’s been my absolute favorite thrift store to visit when I would come home from South Carolina (which was maybe 4 ish times since then) my husband and 2 dogs just moved back to the Dayton area (Tipp City!) and my first thought was —“ I am going to be SO close to my favorite place—the Gleaning Place!” So now, I get to enjoy coming whenever I want and it’s really one of my favorite parts of moving back since I love to shop second hand and decorate our house with re-used items. Kitty is always such a pleasure — as well as all of the amazing volunteers that work here!”

4710 Troy Pike, Dayton“This facility, staff and management are the absolute best in the region. I see a few mixed reviews from people on here and I think it's time to address everything and go over what makes this facility amazing. My daughter has Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. She has multiple seizure types that change often and present themselves in different ways. She is also nonverbal autistic which requires constant care and attention. My daughter needs eyes on her at all times, needs help with eating, has multiple therapies she needs, and on top of all that she can't talk so the communication has to be constant. The amazing staff at URS handles everything with ease. When we first introduced my daughter they were incredibly thorough and made sure to educate themselves on as much as possible. As time has gone by I've seen my little girl go from a nervous shy kid to someone who jumps right into class when I drop her off in the morning. She seems far more prepared for the next level than I could have ever dreamed of. The staff here is top class. They truly love and care about my daughter and there is no better feeling. What really impresses me is whenever I bring something of concern to their attention, it's addressed right away and corrected above and beyond. Just like any care facility we have had some learning curves but whenever something presents itself we tackle it as a team.Next I want to talk about the level the facility is maintained. It's incredibly difficult to keep my house clean with one toddler but they manage to do it with dozens. Every day I come in to get my daughter there is someone cleaning, mopping, sweeping or disinfecting. The classrooms are organized and I am able to bring in anything to make my daughter feel comfortable and know it will be taken care of. Not only is the facility clean but it's also incredibly safe. The doors are always locked and the building is set up to where the only entrance in is past a secretary through double code locked doors. This place is far more secure and clean than any daycare or school I've ever seen. All in all I can't imagine anyone having a child attend this incredible establishment and think poorly of it. My daughter absolutely adores the staff who so closely take care of her every day. They are are like family and I can't think of how we would have survived these last few years without their help. Through ups and downs with my daughters health they have stood by our side and supported us in every way imaginable. There are no other places that come close to what you find behind those doors. We will be forever grateful for URS and it's staff and I know they will leave an impact on my little girl that will last a lifetime.”
“Went to a great quarter auction at the Amvets for Rescue Me animal rescue organization. This was a nice big place to have an event. The only drawback I see and the reason I did not give it 5 stars was there is only 1 ramp to get into the place and that is if you go through the bar (you know the drill, go in the back way to get to where you need to go) This is Amvets! Put in a couple of small ramps it would not be much and would be so much easier for those of us in a wheelchair. Well its been 3 yars and there is still no ramp in the front! Really, why is this so hard? It is harder going in the back way where there is a ramp because there is all kinds of furniture in the way. !! It really saddens me when AMVETS will not make it accessible for those of us in a wheelchair. We wonder why no one else does? ?”
